Credits are your monthly allowance for AI work in Poppy. Every AI reply, image, carousel and web search uses some of them. Uploading files and organizing your board does not.
How many credits you get
Credits depend on your plan, per month:
Base: 2,000
Starter: 4,000
Creator: 8,000
Power User: 16,000
Credits reset on the 1st of every month at 5AM PST. They do not roll over.

What uses credits
Credits are used when the AI does work for you: chat replies, Copilot replies, images, carousels and web searches. Moving things around your board, uploading files and quick adds in Copilot are free.
Content you connect to a chat
Documents, videos, links and images connected to a chat are read on every message.
More text means more credits per message. Think of the amount of text or the length of the transcript, not the number of pages or the length of the video.
The AI model you choose
Bigger models cost more per message. GPT-5.4 Mini is the budget option.

Length of the conversation
The whole conversation is sent with every message, so long chats cost more per message.

Credits vs tokens
Credits = your monthly allowance.
Tokens = how much text a model can read at once. Limits are in the AI Models Guide.
Where to see your credits
Click your profile picture in the top right of the board or the boards page.
Find the Credits row (piggy bank icon). It shows how many credits you have left and a usage bar.
Click it to open Your credits: credits left, credits used this month, the reset date, Buy More Credits, Earn free credits, Where your credits come from and How it Works.
Can't find it?
Credits are no longer in the top bar. Use the profile picture menu.
On a phone or a narrow window the profile menu is hidden. Use a wider window or a computer.
If you switched to a team in the profile menu, the Credits row shows the team's credits, not yours.
You can also see them in Settings > Billing.
If you reach your limit, you can't send new prompts to your chats, but you can still use your board. Buy more credits or wait for the 1st.
Earn bonus credits
Open Your momentum at the top of a board, or in the left sidebar on your boards page. Finish the getting started tasks and create something each day to earn bonus credits. Bonus credits go to your personal balance and expire 30 days after you earn them.
Need more credits?
Click Buy More Credits in the credits window, or the Upgrades button at the top of the board. You can upgrade your plan or buy a one-time credit pack.
One-time credit boosts last 30 days from your purchase, plus until the next credit reset.
Example: you buy 3,000 extra credits on September 16th. You can use them until the credits reset on November 1st.
