What Credits Actually Are
Credits are your monthly fuel for using Poppy's AI power. Think of them like gas in your car - the more you drive, the more you use.
Every plan comes with 2,000 base credits that reset to 0 on the 1st of every month at 9AM PST. Use them or lose them - they don't roll over.

How Credits Get Used
Credits only get consumed when you chat with AI. That's it. You can upload files, organize boards, and do everything else without touching your credit balance.
Here's what determines your credit spending:
Content You Attach to Chat
Documents, videos, links, images - everything you connect to a chat
More text the chat has to read through = higher credit usage per message
Think of the amount of text or length of the transcript rather than the number of pages or the length of the video.
AI Model You Choose
GPT-4o mini uses fewer credits (marked as "low" usage)

Length of Your Conversation
Longer chat histories use more credits
The AI remembers your entire conversation, which counts toward usage

Credits vs Tokens: What's the Difference?
Credits= What you pay for (your monthly allowance)
Tokens = How much the AI can process at once (memory capacity)

Tracking Your Usage
Hover over your credit number in the top right to see your current usage.
0/2000 credits mean that you have not used any of your credits
2000/2000 credits mean that you have used all of your credits.
If you hit your credit limit, you won't be able to prompt your chats any further, but you can still interact with your board. You will be able to use your chat again if you purchase more credits or you can wait until the 1st of the month when credits reset.
