If you are facing issues signing up or logging in to your Post account with your email and password, please follow the steps below. For questions concerning login and signup with Google, please see this FAQ.

Signup Troubleshooting

  1. Try to sign up to Post again.

If you get the error User already exists, this means your email is already associated with an account and you can proceed with the steps below.

If you get the error Username is unavailable, you can navigate to post.news/@/your_desired_handle to see if the handle is already taken by another user. If the profile appears unedited and isn't following any other profiles, then this is likely the account that you have created and you can proceed with the steps below. Otherwise, try again with a unique handle.

  2. If your email address is associated with a Post account, request a confirmation code in a web browser in order to verify your email address.

If you receive a Resend Verification Error, your email may already be verified and you can try to reset your password in a web browser.

  3. Please open your email in a different tab/window/app and check your various inboxes (including the spam folder) for the confirmation code email. The email may take up to 10 minutes to arrive.

  4. Return to your Post window and enter the received code. If you have received multiple confirmation code emails, make sure to use the code from the most recent email.

  5. You should then be directed to the login page where you can log in using the email and password you initially signed up with.

Login Troubleshooting

Note: If you are being asked to enter a confirmation code after logging in, you may have enabled multi-factor authentication, for which you can find more information in this FAQ.

  1. Please first verify that you are attempting to log in with the email address associated with your Post account. You can do so by searching your emails for notifications@post.news. The email address associated with your Post account will be listed at the end of any email sent to you by this address.

  2. Try to reset your password in a web browser if logging in gives you an error.

  5. You should then be directed to the login page where you can log in using your email and updated password. We recommend typing these manually, because autofill and password managers may be storing your outdated password.

For those using the Firefox browser: If the login button is disabled after using autofill to populate the email and password field, do not despair. You can either enter your login credentials manually or simply click into both autofilled fields, add a space and delete the space in order to reactivate the login button. This bug will be fixed soon.
