The student enrollment process is the same for all Power Spelling membership plans.
First, teachers will enroll students into a group automatically titled All Students. You can then access and customize student login information.
Next, create small groups. Teachers will title each small group and enroll selected students into each group. (Optional)
Then, assign games and tests to All Students for whole class instruction. Assign activities to selected groups for differentiated instruction.
Getting Started
Click on All Students from the left menu.
Click on Batch Entry.
In the future, if you have a new student, click on the Add Student button to add one student at a time.
You have two options for importing students:
Batch Entry - Type each first and last name into the Batch Entry list. The list will expand as needed. Click Add Students to Group when done.
Upload Student File - Download the template, enter the students names on the template, save the template to your computer, click the Upload Student File button and attach the saved file.
Customize and Access Student Login Information
Click on All Students from the left menu to access student details.
Student Grid - Customize Student usernames and passwords.
Print Student Cards - Print cards that include individual usernames and passwords to distribute to students.
Download Student List - This list includes the students’ names, usernames and passwords. Note: Extend columns on the Excel Document before printing.
Batch Entry - This allows you to add multiple students using a saved template or batch entry.
Add Student - Add a new student to your list. Note: This is the best way to add a new student.
Creating Groups for Differentiated Instruction
Click on the Add Group button from the left menu.
Type in a name for the group.
Click the Next button.
Click the Enroll Students button.
Click the Enroll button to the right of the desired students to add each student to the group.
Group Example:
This Blue Group now has four students.
Enroll or Remove students from a group at any time.
Assign tests or games to the Blue Group using the desired word list.
Students who are in a small group will also be in the All Students group.
Accessing Individual Student Information
Click on All Students from the left menu.
Click on the underlined students name.
Clicking on a students name opens the Student Panel.
Here you will have access to and can edit student details, including student username and password.
View the students groups.
View the students assignments and responses.
