You can upload and work with files in many ways within the platform.
Before you upload
Before starting you should locate: Where should this files be located? Should it be on a specific product, a specific attribute etc.
A good rule of thumb is:
Locate the file as specific as possible. If its a certificate on a give subpart, then locate it there. If its on a base product (and therefore relevant to all variants), then locate it on the base product.
Locate the file in a specific attribute. If its a FSC documentation, then create a specific attribute called "FSC documentation". This make it easy to check and set alerts on that specific documentation.
How to upload files when logged into the system?
There are two ways to upload files when being within the system:
You can find the specific attribute on "Data" tab on a given document. Here you can directly upload a file into that attribute. All files uploaded can always be find and located in the "Assets" tab.
You can go to the "Assets" tab on a given document. Here you can upload files on that document. Later on you can go to a given attribute and select that file to be located within a given attribute.
How to upload files via a Excel/CSV file?
You can upload files via Excel/CSV files. It has to be a public link to the specific file in a seperat column. This column should then be mapped to a attribute when uploading. This has to be a attribute with the file upload function (you can create your own custom attribute if needed).
How to let suppliers and partners upload an file?
In a case where you want your suppliers/partners to upload any given file. You should create a link with a given attribute where they can upload it.
