How to Navigate the New CFO Pricing Approval Structure in Preo
As part of our ongoing efforts to streamline pricing governance and ensure strategic oversight, Preo is introducing a new three-tier CFO Pricing Approval structure. This change is designed to provide clearer escalation paths and ensure the right level of financial scrutiny is applied to pricing decisions.
🔍 Overview of the New Approval Levels
The new structure introduces three distinct levels of CFO approval, each with specific roles and responsibilities:
Level 1: XBS Regional CFO Approval
Who: Claire McFadden
When to escalate here: This is the first line of approval for pricing decisions that exceed standard thresholds at the regional level.
Scope: Regional pricing exceptions, margin reviews, and deal escalations within XBS territories.
Level 2: XBS National CFO Approval
Who: David Milne
When to escalate here: If a pricing decision exceeds the authority or scope of Level 1, or if it involves national-level implications.
Scope: National pricing strategies, high-impact deals, or exceptions that cross multiple regions.
Level 3: Global Print CFO Approval
Who: Eduardo Rodriguez
When to escalate here: Reserved for the most strategic or high-value pricing decisions that have global implications or require executive-level oversight.
Scope: Global pricing alignment, strategic initiatives, and enterprise-level deals.
📈 How to Escalate Approvals Across Levels
To ensure a smooth and efficient approval process, follow these steps when escalating pricing decisions:
Start at Level 1:
Submit your pricing request to the appropriate Regional CFO (Claire McFadden). Include all relevant documentation, deal context, and margin analysis.Escalate to Level 2 if needed:
If the Regional CFO determines the request exceeds their authority or has broader implications, they will escalate it to David Milne at the National level. Ensure all prior feedback and documentation are included.Escalate to Level 3 for strategic decisions:
For global or enterprise-level deals, David Milne will escalate the request to Eduardo Rodriguez. This level requires a comprehensive business case and alignment with global pricing strategy.
✅ Best Practices for Submitting Approvals
Be thorough: Include all supporting data, financial models, and justifications.
Be timely: Allow sufficient lead time for each level of review.
Be clear: Clearly state the reason for escalation and the desired outcome.
