Pricepoint won't let you save a price configuration where the Minimum Price is higher than the Starting Price, or the Maximum Price is lower than the Starting Price. This prevents an invalid pricing range from ever being saved.
Why does this matter?
Even when a save is technically allowed (for example, Min Price exactly equal to Starting Price), we recommend keeping at least a 20% gap between Starting Price and both Min and Max Price. Without that margin, Pricepoint's AI has little to no room to fluctuate prices, which works against the purpose of dynamic pricing. (See Setting up Starting, Minimum, and Maximum Prices for more on this recommendation.)
What does this look like when it happens?
The error appears differently depending on where you're making the change:
Calendar (daily pop-up): the invalid field is highlighted in red.
Rate Setup: an orange banner appears in the top right: "Invalid prices found, save operation can't be performed."
Bulk Update: a red error banner appears, along with a warning listing the specific room type, date, and conflicting values
How do I fix it?
Adjust either value so the range is valid again:
Lower the Minimum Price so it's below the Starting Price (ideally by at least 20%), or
Raise the Starting Price so it's above the Minimum Price (ideally by at least 20%).
The same logic applies to the Maximum Price: it must stay above the Starting Price, ideally by at least 20%.
