Hostel Mode is only available for properties with Property Type set to Hostel.
Hostel Mode (Bednights) shows your Pricepoint reporting per bed instead of per room, so your metrics match how hostels usually measure performance.
Getting Hostel Mode turned on
New Hostel properties have Hostel Mode on automatically.
Not sure if it's on for you? If Snapshot shows Bed Nights and ABR, it's on. If it still shows Room Nights and ADR, contact our Customer Support Team and we'll turn it on for you. To go back to per room reporting, ask our team to turn it off.
What changes
With Hostel Mode on, Pricepoint counts nights per bed instead of per room:
bed nights = room nights sold × beds in the room type
Your average rate and RevPAR are then calculated per bed. Revenue stays the same.
Per room (default) | Hostel Mode | What it means |
Room Nights | Bed Nights | One bed sold for one night: room nights sold × beds in the room type |
ADR (Average Daily Rate) | ABR (Average Bed Rate) | Revenue ÷ bed nights sold |
RevPAR (Revenue per Available Room) | RevPAB (Revenue per Available Bed) | The bed based version of RevPAR |
Example: an 8 bed room type in April, in Snapshot.
Metric | Per room | Hostel Mode |
Revenue on the books | 13,419€ | 13,419€ |
Nights sold | 46 room nights | 368 bed nights (46 × 8) |
Average rate | ADR 292€ | ABR 36.46€ |

What stays the same
Prices are still set and sent to your PMS per room, not per bed.
Revenue is the same with Hostel Mode on or off.
Properties that aren't hostels see no change.
Pryce (the AI Assistant) and Analytics don’t use Hostel Mode yet. They show per room figures (Room Nights, ADR, RevPAR), while the rest of your reporting shows per bed figures. Both are correct, and revenue is the same everywhere.
Frequently asked questions
Can I turn Hostel Mode on or off myself?
No. New Hostel properties have it on automatically. For an existing Hostel property, contact our Customer Support Team and we'll turn it on or off for you.
Does Hostel Mode change my prices?
No. It only changes how reporting is calculated and labelled. Prices are still set and sent to your PMS per room.
Why is ABR so much lower than my ADR?
ABR divides revenue by beds instead of rooms. In an 8 bed room type, ABR is ADR divided by 8.
Why does Pryce show a different number from the rest of my reporting?
Pryce doesn't use Hostel Mode yet, so it shows your average rate per room (ADR). The rest of your reporting, like Snapshot and Pickup monitor, shows it per bed (ABR). Both are correct.
Can I use Hostel Mode if my property isn’t a hostel?
No. Hostel Mode is only available for properties with Property Type set to Hostel. Hotels and other property types always see reporting per room.
