While creating reports in Analytics it's important to understand the different types of aggregations we provide. If you have any questions about which one you should use for a specific report, please feel free to reach out our support team and we can advise on the best approach.

Count of Unique Productions

The first type of aggregation "Count of Unique Productions", counts the unique productions based on the ProdPro ID. Individual Seasons and pilots are considered a unique production with its own ProdPro ID.

Sums of Budget/Spend Aggregations

We provide several different budget/spend aggregations that are similar but have important distinctions to be aware of.

Aggregation

Description

Example Use Cases

Sum of Total Production Budget

Sum of total budget for each unique production based on ProdPro ID.

Note: each season and pilot is considered a unique production.

"What was the total production budgets of Series vs Features that got started in 2023?"

Use when doing an analysis of committed production spend (total production budget) that does not require a location breakdown.

Sum of Location Budget

ProdPro estimates the distribution of the total production budget by location. This allows you to get an estimate of the total budgets within a specific region.

Note: productions without locations will be excluded from this calculation.

"What were the production budgets specific to California that got started in 2023?"

Use when doing an analysis of committed production spend (total production budgets) that requires a location breakdown.

Sum of Weekly Production Spend

ProdPro calculates weekly production spend by dividing the total production budget by the number of filming weeks. This aggregation calculates the sum of the weekly production spend for each unique production.

Note: productions without principal photography start dates or wrap dates will be excluded from this calculation.

"What is the total spend estimates for Disney globally in Q1 2024?"

Use when doing an analysis with filming months/quarters/years that don't require location breakdowns.

Sum of Weekly Location Spend

Similar to the Sum of Weekly Production

Note: productions without principal photography start dates, wrap dates, or locations will be excluded from this calculation
