Adding extra charges for product options is super easy with Product Customizer! Let’s walk through it step by step.
💡 Charge extra for product option selections
With Product Customizer’s Premium Customizer Plan, you can add extra costs for custom options in a snap. Here’s the magic behind it:
When you add a price to an option, the app uses a hidden product called Product Customizations behind the scenes to apply your upcharge to the cart.
This product will be visible in your product listings within your Shopify admin.
⚠️ NOTE: Please do not modify this product in any way, except for changing its images if you wish. Changing anything else may break how upcharge pricing works in your store!
Your customers won’t see this product, but it’s what makes the pricing work seamlessly. Every time someone picks an option with a price, that cost is added to the cart as a separate line item.
Example:
Product Price: $100
Option Charge: +$5
Cart Total: = $105 ✅
From there, customization charge line item flows into checkout like any other product. Then to order confirmation, and each order detail within your Shopify admin panel.
