When you're scheduling work on a task, it helps to see at a glance how much of it is already planned and how much is still open.
That's what the three badges in the Bookings tab are for. They're visible as soon as you open the tab, even before you've created a booking.
What the Three Badges Mean
Total Scheduled: how many hours are booked on the task in total, across every booking linked to it.
Future Scheduled: how many of those booked hours are still ahead of today.
Unaccounted Time or Unscheduled Time: how many hours are still left to plan, based on the task's initial estimate. Which label you see, and how it's calculated, depends on your admin's choice in Settings > Resourcing > Planning & Scheduling:
Unscheduled time = Initial estimate − Total scheduled
Unaccounted time = Initial estimate − (Worked + Future scheduled)
👉 This same figure appears on each task card in the Tasks panel on a project's Resource Planning tab — see Booking Tasks from the Project Resourcing Tab.
📌 Both calculations start from the task's initial estimate.
If a task doesn't have one, or if more time has been logged than was ever estimated, there's nothing left to subtract from, so the badge can go negative. That's expected. It's a signal to add or revisit the task's estimate, not an error.
Task Badges vs. Service Badges
The task's badges and the service's badge are two separate things, even though they sit right next to each other in the booking form.
The task's badges come from the task's own initial estimate.
The service's badge (shown next to the Service field) comes from the service's own estimate on the budget or deal.
Because each is based on a different estimate, they'll often show different numbers, even for the exact same booking. That just means each is answering a different question: "How is this task tracking?" versus "How is this service tracking?"
📌 Example: The task Background Patterns has a 20-hour initial estimate. Before anything is booked:
The task's Unaccounted Time badge shows 20 hrs (nothing scheduled or tracked yet).
The Cover Design service linked to it has other work tracked, so its badge shows 23 hrs as unaccounted.
Now a 20-hour booking is created on the task, for the same service, fully in the future:
On the task, Total Scheduled and Future Scheduled both jump to 20 hrs, and Unaccounted Time drops to 0 hrs — the task's own estimate is fully covered.
On the service, the badge drops to 3 hrs (23 − 20) — it only moved by the amount actually booked, from its own, separate starting point.
Same booking, same 20 hours, but each badge is being measured against its own estimate, so they land on different numbers.

Scheduling Fields in Task Views
The same four values (Scheduled time, Future scheduled time, Unaccounted time, Unscheduled time) can also be added as columns to task views (list, table, and board layouts).
Click + Add column at the right edge of the task list.
Select the field(s) you want to add.
This gives you the same scheduling data as the badges, but across many tasks at once, without opening each one individually.
