Importing job adverts

Adverts may be imported automatically into the system in addition to manually entering adverts via Profesia.sk. Importing adverts is a service outside the framework of credit packages and includes the following services:

  • Initial configuration of advert imports via API or XML

  • Phone support for any issues

  • 1-year of import technical support

Adverts may be imported in two ways:

  1. Using Profesia API Highly recommendedAdverts are immediately imported after posting in your system. Communication between your system and the Profesia.sk system uses API calls defined in Profesia API documentation. Code list updates occur just as dynamically. Direct application-to-application communication minimises the risk of errors occurring when adverts are imported. Job adverts may also be added automatically to Profesia.sk using a job advert import.

  2. Using an XML file Job adverts can be imported into Profesia.sk also from an XML file. There are two ways how to import an XML file:

    • import as a draft - if you want to have full control over imported job adverts before their publishing/li>

    • instantly published import - job adverts will be published immediately after the import by the following rules:new adverts are added to www.profesia.skinformation in existing, posted adverts is updatedposting of adverts not found in the XML file is terminated

Note: A sufficient level of pre-paid credit is required when importing adverts into the system. The credit needed to post adverts is not included in the Import service.

TIP: Check to see if the supplier of your HR system supports exporting job adverts to our portal. This can save a large amount of time when preparing an XML file with adverts.

The Profesia API is a simple, fast and convenient way to import job adverts from your system to Profesia.sk. A beta version is currently being used.

To start using the Profesia API, you must have an existing account and an assigned authentication token, which you receive upon service activation.

You can then start using an API call to import adverts into Profesia.sk.

TIP: Check to see if the supplier of your HR system supports exporting job adverts to Profesia.sk via API. This can save time in the technical preparations needed to import adverts.

We can activate this service if:

  • you have an existing company account at Profesia.sk

  • simply send us a link to the XML file containing the job adverts on your server – the XML file must be in the correct format

We provide our clients with code lists for XML files that permit the immediate posting of imported adverts on Profesia.

If you do not use our code lists, the adverts we import from you will be saved as drafts in your corporate account and you will have to post them manually.

XML file requirements

  • the structure of the XML file must be done in the defined format

  • every imported advert must have all mandatory fields complete

  • the XML file must be accessible at a fixed URL address

  • you must have sufficient credit for the imported adverts

Note: Adverts are not imported if you don’t have sufficient credit to post all adverts; an error message appears stating the job adverts were rejected due to insufficient credit. The validity of a single advert is 1 month max. If an advert remains in the XML file for longer, it is considered a newly added advert after this period and another credit is deducted for its posting.

The most frequent XML error messages

www.profesia.sk - automatic import log report - FATAL ERROR

Our system is unable to read the XML file containing job adverts. The file is corrupted or otherwise inaccessible for our system. The adverts could not be imported. Please contact your IT department or the provider of your export file and ensure the XML file is in the defined format.

Contact person not registered in the www.profesia.sk system / Incorrectly entered contact details (ID, email, or first and last name)

Even though adverts are imported automatically, every advert must have a defined contact person registered at Profesia.sk. Please check to ensure the person identified for each advert is a person registered in your corporate account at Profesia.sk. Log in to the company account

The following errors may occur when identifying contact persons:

  • The contact person is not registered at www.profesia.sk. Please check your account to determine if the person identified in the advert is registered. If not, the person must be added.

  • The contact person is registered at www.profesia.sk, but no contact was identified for the advert (identification details - first and last name and email). These items are mandatory when importing job adverts.

  • The contact person is registered at www.profesia.sk but the identification details were not completed correctly (i.e. first name, last name and email of the contact person). The contact details identified in the Profesia.sk system must match those in the job advert.

  • You entered the identification details for multiple contact persons. A job advert may only be assigned to a single submitter. If you need to provide a different contact person, we recommend making this change in the job advert itself as text information.

Undefined positions or work areas

The job advert you are attempting to import does not contain the mandatory field Position or Work area. Ensure the mandatory values (positions, offercategorypositions) are entered in the XML file.

Undefined place of work

The job advert you are attempting to import must have a defined mandatory field for Place of work. Ensure the mandatory value (offerlocation) is entered in the XML file.

Type of employment (ID) not assigned, configured value: 1

If you did not define a type of employment for a specific advert, our system automatically configures a value of 1 (full-time employment).

If you don’t want to receive this type of message when importing adverts, we recommend setting the type of employment parameter directly in the XML file. Details can be found in the technical specifications.

Incorrect combination of position and work area

The position in the imported file is not classified to the correct work area.

The classification must be modified per the specifications of the position based on the CATPOS code list.

Multiple uses of an external ID - Identical adverts

Multiple adverts are entered in the imported XML file with the same ID or the same advert was exported multiple times with an identical ID.

Our system imports the first advert with a duplicate identifier and the other adverts are not imported.

If you want to avoid the error message, check to ensure the same external ID parameter does not appear for multiple adverts.
