Re-display Conditions: Overview

Re-display Conditions controls how often a popup appears to the same visitor — set wait times, impression limits, and post-submission behavior.

Re-display Conditions is a feature that controls how often a display appears to the same visitor. You can set a waiting period between views, cap the total number of impressions, or configure whether the display can reappear after a form submission.

How it works

Re-display settings are evaluated each time a trigger condition is met. If the conditions are not satisfied — for example, not enough time has passed since the last view — the display is suppressed for that visitor.

Key settings

  • After the following time has passed — Sets how long to wait before showing the display again. For example, "1 day" means the display will not appear again for 24 hours after it was last shown, regardless of how many pages the visitor views. (Not available when Teaser is enabled.)

  • Allow re-display after form submission — Off by default. When off, the display will not reappear once a visitor submits a form. Turn this on if you want repeat impressions even after submission — for example, a coupon button that can be pressed multiple times.

  • Maximum number of times to show per user — Caps the total number of times the display can appear to the same visitor. Can be combined with a time interval (e.g., "1 day" + "Maximum 3 times" = once per day, up to 3 times total).

  • Show up to X times per user (with time period) — "3 times / All time" means a maximum of 3 impressions ever. "3 times / Current visit" means up to 3 times within the current session, resetting on each new visit.

Notes

The "After the following time has passed" setting is unavailable when Teaser is enabled.

When re-display is set to "Every time a page is visited," reloading the same page also counts as a visit — the display can fire on each reload until the maximum impression count is reached.

Example: "Every time a page is visited" + "Maximum 3 times" means simply reloading the same page three times will trigger the display three times.

Whether or not the visitor closed the display does not affect the count. Even if they navigated away without closing it, the display will not reappear until the configured time interval has elapsed.
