On-site preview lets you see a display live on your own website before making it public. Click the 'Preview' button in the editor to open the preview settings. The display state at the moment you click Preview is what will be shown.
You can simulate triggers and display rules, and check how the display looks on both mobile and desktop.
Preview views are not counted in display view statistics.

Rule settings
Ignore rules
The display appears immediately, ignoring all rules and triggers.
If the display does not appear even with 'Ignore rules', it almost certainly means the Promolayer script has not been installed. Please contact support.
Follow rules
The display follows all configured rules and triggers, but will also appear in draft mode.
Other settings
URL
The URL to navigate to when you click Preview.
Clear browser storage before opening
Some rules check a user's history (display view history, button clicks, page views) stored in browser storage (Web Storage). Clearing it lets you test as a first-time visitor.
QR code
A QR code that opens the same URL as the Preview button — handy for testing on mobile.
Preview warnings
During preview, you may see a warning: "This display will not appear on your live site due to the following rules." This means your current browser would not see the display on the actual live site. The warning lists the specific rules that are blocking it — use them as hints to diagnose your rule configuration.
If your display has a form
You can test the form submission flow in preview. Submitting the form will not register any email addresses or trigger any follow-up emails or coupon creation. However, it will transition to the 'Thank you' step so you can check how it looks. If a coupon is set to appear after conversion, it will always display as "SAMPLEONLY" in preview.
Submitting a form during preview does not register email addresses, send follow-up emails, or create coupons.
