Case Overview

The Case Overview page provides a centralized view of key case information, including summary details, metrics, time entries, case costs and essential tools. It helps you review case progress and manage all work completed for each case in one place.

Where to Find Case Overview

  1. Select a case from the Viewing Case dropdown menu.

  2. Scroll to the Case Navigation section.

  3. Click Case Overview.

The Case Overview window will load with metrics, summaries, and management tools.


Case Metrics

At the top of the page, several metric cards provide important case statistics:

  • Case Value

  • Days Active

  • Case Files

  • Case Cost

These values within the cards update automatically as you work on the case, upload documents, or generate AI outputs.


Case Cost: Tracking AI Usage and Billing Clients

The Case Cost card in the top right corner displays the total AI usage cost associated with that case. This feature helps your firm track how much computational work was performed and supports accurate client billing.

Case Cost Breakdown

The Case Cost Breakdown, available through the Quick Actions panel, provides a detailed, itemized report of all AI processing costs and time entries associated with the case. This breakdown is designed to help firms recoup subscription and usage costs by billing clients for both traditional time spent and AI generated work.

The downloadable statement presents all cost details in a clear and itemized format. According to the sample breakdown shown on page one of the attached cost statement PDF, the report includes the following information:

AI Processing Costs

This section lists every AI task completed for the case, including:

  • The date of the AI action

  • The task or category (for example, Summarize Document, Demand Letter, Medical Chronology and AI Paralegal)

  • The total cost for that specific action

A summary displays the total sessions and the total AI processing cost.

Time Entries

Time Entries appear as a separate section and show traditional billable work performed by members of your team. Each entry includes:

  • Date

  • Category work (Client Meeting, Document Review, etc.)

  • Duration in hours

  • Hourly rate

  • Total cost for the entry

The summary includes total entries, total hours, and total cost.

Grand Total

The right side of the report shows the combined cost of:

  • All AI processing costs

  • All time entries

This total reflects the full cost of legal work performed for that case and can be downloaded and used to support billing transparency, insurance reporting, or internal cost analysis.

Key Insights

The bottom of the report explains how these costs are calculated. As shown in the attached PDF:

  • AI processing costs represent the computational resources used for document analysis, research assistance, and automated case preparation.

  • Time entries are tracked with precise durations and hourly rates.

  • The combined report shows how legal work is divided between time based services and AI assisted tasks.


Case Summary

The Case Summary card is located in the center of the Case Overview page. It includes three tabs:

  • Client Information

  • Case Details

  • Insurance Information

You may switch between these tabs to review or edit details about the client, incident, coverage, and other essential information.


Quick Actions

The Quick Actions card is located to the right of the Case Summary. It provides direct access to:

  • Add Entry

  • Upload Document

  • Generate Demand Letter

  • Generate Medical Chronology

  • Case Cost Breakdown

Each tool is case-specific and automatically routes you to the correct workflow.

Time Entries

Time entries can be managed in two places:

1. Case Overview Page

The Time Entries card at the bottom of the Case Overview page displays:

  • All entries associated with the case

  • Duration and cost

  • Entry category

  • Team member responsible

This card updates automatically as you add new entries.

2. Tracker (Main Navigation)

Selecting Tracker from the main navigation opens the universal time tracking tool for your organization. Time entries added here will automatically appear within the associated case on the Case Overview page.

Case Attorneys

The Case Attorneys card is found below the Quick Actions panel. It lists all attorneys assigned to the case. Attorneys can be added or removed at any time to keep case management accurate.
