Time Entry (Add Entry)

Time Entry allows you to log and track the hours spent working on a case for accurate billing, recordkeeping, and productivity tracking.

📍Where to find Time Entry

The Time Entry tool can only be accessed through the Quick Actions card in Case Overview.

Creating a New Time Entry

To add a new Time Entry:

  1. Click Add Entry

  2. A Time Entries list will pop out from the right hand of your screen

  3. Click the Create Entry button

  4. A dialog window will appear with a form to complete

Filling Out the Create Time Entry form:

  1. Duration (hrs)*

    • Manual: type the total time (e.g., 1.3 for 1 hr 18 min).

    • Timer: click the Play ▶️ button to start; click again to stop. You can edit the final number.

  2. Matter

    • Confirm the correct matter (e.g., John Brown Personal Injury Case). Use the dropdown to switch if needed.

  3. Activity category

    • Pick the category that best fits the work (e.g., Research, Drafting, Meeting).

  4. Date*

    • Set the date you performed the work (defaults to today; adjust for past time).

  5. Description*

    • Enter a concise, client-safe narrative of what you did and why (what you reviewed/drafted, for whom, and outcome).

  6. Rate (/hr)* and Billable/Non-billable

    • Confirm or adjust the hourly rate.

    • Toggle Non-billable off for billable time (leave it on for internal/admin work).

  7. Save

    • Click Save Entry to record it, or Cancel/X to discard.

Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
