How to Use the Lesson Locking Feature in Proserva

Proserva’s Lesson Locking feature allows educators to control the sequence in which students access course content. This feature ensures that students complete necessary prerequisites, such as assignments or quizzes, before moving on to subsequent lessons.

Here’s how you can use this feature effectively:

Enable the Lesson Locking Feature

  1. Log in to Proserva and navigate to your course dashboard.

  2. Select the course where you want to apply the Lesson Locking feature.

  3. Go to Lesson Settings by clicking on any lesson in the course.

  4. In the Lesson Settings menu, find the section labeled “Lock Lesson” and toggle the feature to “On”.

  5. From the drop down select the lesson you want completed from the list.

Student Experience

  • Once prerequisites are set, students will see a lock icon next to the greyed-out lesson in their course module.

  • The lesson will remain inaccessible until they complete the required activities.

  • Upon successful completion of the prerequisite activities, the lesson will automatically unlock, allowing students to continue with the course.

Monitor Progress

  • Educators can monitor which students have unlocked specific lessons by viewing the progress report in the course dashboard.

  • This allows you to ensure that students are following the intended learning path and completing necessary activities before advancing.

Tips for Using Lesson Locking Effectively

  • Sequence Critical Content: Use this feature to sequence critical content that builds upon previous lessons.

  • Prevent Skipping: Ensure students complete foundational knowledge before moving to more advanced topics.

  • Track Completion: Regularly check progress to see how students are progressing and if any adjustments are needed.

The Lesson Locking feature in Proserva is a powerful tool for maintaining the integrity of your course structure and ensuring students are engaging with the material in the intended order. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to our support team.
