Pre-Save links for Spotify are not provided automatically by Spotify.

Music Labels powered by Proton can use Release Links for free, which includes pre-saves for Spotify -- instant, automatic, and free!

If your music labels are not powered by Proton, or you're not using Release Links yet, the rest of this article can help.

If you're not using Release Links as a Proton powered label, then you need to use a pre-save service like Linkfire, though you can find many different companies that offer pre-save features. Some are free, some are paid: choose one that works best for you. If you're not sure what pre-save service to use, a quick search on Google should help you find a few. And if you find one you like, let us know, and we'll add it to this page!

When using a pre-save service (like SmartURL), you'll need to provide the service with a Spotify URL or Spotify URI for your upcoming album release. This article is about helping you find the Spotify URI/URL for your pre-save campaign.

What you'll need:

  • Music Labels: You'll need label manager access to Spotify for Artists. If you don't have one yet,  read our guide here and then come back to this page.

  • Artists: You'll need access to Spotify for Artists. If you don't have one yet, click that link and follow the steps on Spotify to claim your artist profile.

Got the access you need to Spotify for Artists?

  • STEP 1: Go to the "Upcoming" area of your Spotify for Artists account.

  • STEP 2: Click "Copy URI" under the name of the release:

IMPORTANT: As a reminder, the URI you've just copied is NOT a working pre-save link on its own. To convert this link to a working pre-save link, you need to work with a pre-save service like SmartURL.
