Setting up a Reddit Panel search isn't much different from our other panel set-ups, but we still want to make sure you have an easy time with it, so we have this guide prepared to help you through the steps!
STEP 1 - DETAILS
The Details section is where you will begin your search and specify the data sources for your Panel search.
Give your search a title
Select Reddit
Scroll to the bottom and click the Save and continue button
STEP 2 - PANELS
Here you can track up to 1000 Subreddits!
Beneath this section you can choose keywords to collect and keywords to filter on. Maybe you don't want all posts from these subreddits, but instead just those that mention a certain subject, and also you want to avoid those that mention another! You can also add in any keywords and authors you want to exclude so the search doesn't pull in any irrelevant data.
Tip 💡: You can enter the keywords you want to monitor like you would using the Wizard setup, so instead of writing OR, you can press enter, and instead of writing AND, use a comma and add the second keyword you want to search alongside.
STEP 3 - TARGET
The Target section is where you can specify the Countries, Languages and under the Advanced Options section, the different Media Types for your content. It's recommended you avoid this section for a Reddit Panel, as it may prevent data from coming in from any of the subreddits you have chosen. Feel free to leave it blank and click Save & Continue to move on.
Important 🚨: We do not collect location data for Reddit. All posts collected will have an unknown location.
STEP 4 - ANALYSIS
The Analysis section offers a suite of advanced algorithms you can choose to apply to your search.
STEP 5 - SUMMARY
Before you finish and save your panel search, you can view a summary of your search. Following this, if you wish to make any amendments to your search, you can edit the search summary.
Your search will only be saved once you click Ok, Create this Search, so be sure to hit this button before you navigate off the page. Upon creation, you will be directed to the Status page where you will be given the option to to collect data in real time, historically, or both.
