At Pulsar, we’re always listening to feedback and refining the product. Over the past month, we’ve focused on making Search Setup on TRAC more intuitive, flexible, and insightful. Whether you’re creating a brand-new search or fine-tuning one, these updates are designed to help you work faster and with greater clarity. Here’s what’s landed so far:
Draft Searches & Autosave
Autosave New Searches as Drafts: Every new search is now automatically saved as a draft once you start building it. No more losing progress if you navigate away from the tab or your browser unexpectedly crashes!
Easy Access to Draft Searches: All your draft searches are easy to find. Head to the “All Searches” page, open the “Status” dropdown, and select “Drafts.” Drafts are sorted by Last Modified so your most recent work is always at the top.
Draft Auto Deletion: Drafts will be automatically deleted after a month of inactivity, but you can delete them manually anytime.
Save & Exit Options: When closing the search setup workflow, you now have 3 new options: Keep Editing, Save & Exit, or Delete Draft.
Easy Data Source Removal
Decided not to include a data source halfway through setup? No problem.
In Wizard mode, next to each data source is now a bin icon, just click on this icon and remove the data source.
When in Boolean mode, just omit the operator and proceed as normal.
This applies to both Topic and Panel searches.
Pre-populated Boolean Editor
For sources that require special operators, the Boolean editor now comes pre-filled with a starter structure. This applies to:
TikTok
Threads
Pinterest
Twitch
Remember, you can always remove a data source simply by deleting its operator! Additionally, when you select specific targeting operators like language, location or media, we now offer some helpful text to guide you through what you can select and how to format it correctly.
Better Data Allowance Visibility in Previews
Data Allowance Visibility: You’ll now see your team’s remaining data allowance during the real-time preview step, and a summary message will flag if you're likely to exceed it so you can adjust before launching.
Realtime Preview Volume Breakdown: A new line chart on the Summary shows the projected volume by data source. Want a clearer view? You can toggle sources on and off directly in the chart.
Clearer Instagram Token Instructions
The Instagram setup section is now clearer, with irrelevant sections greyed out until a valid business token is added.
Helpful tooltips and a linked guide walk you through adding business tokens.
Still stuck? You can now remove Instagram directly from the Topics step and continue building your search with zero friction.
Clearer Analysis Page Options
We’ve reorganised and simplified the Analysis page. Tooltips are now included to explain what each analysis or AI model does, helping you select the right models with confidence.
Learn More About Search Drafts
How do I save searches as a draft?
You don’t need to do anything, all new searches are saved automatically as drafts while you build them. Autosave begins once you reach the Topics step and start adding your query, and a timestamp is displayed on the top right, which continuously updates as you create your search. This new functionality means you no longer have to worry about losing your progress if you navigate away from the tool or go back a step. Additionally, your draft searches are easily accessible - simply go to the All Searches page, filter by Status: Drafts. Drafts are sorted by Last Modified, so your most recent work appears first..
If you want to leave the search setup and return later, click “Close” in the top right corner. You’ll then have two options:
Save & Exit: save your draft to continue later
Delete Draft: discard the search and remove it from your list
Where do I find all my draft searches?
After a new search draft has been created, you will be able to access it through the “All Searches” page. Simply go to the All Searches page, filter by Status: Drafts. Drafts are sorted by Last Modified, so your most recent work appears first. To go back to view all your searches, just reset the filter.
How do I delete search drafts?
By default, drafts are automatically deleted after 1 month of inactivity to keep your workspace tidy. You can also delete them manually anytime from the All Searches page by filtering Status = Drafts.
These improvements are now live and available to all TRAC clients with permissions to create or edit searches. And we’re not stopping here, more refinements are on the way, including:
Uploading profiles or handles in Panel searches via CSV
Boolean auto-fix and smart suggestions
A consolidated Boolean editor
…and much more!
We hope these updates make it easier and faster to create searches. If there’s anything you’d like us to address or prioritise, please reach out to our support team or your account manager with your feedback.
