The Price Editor is a powerful feature that will help you update the products and variants of your choice simultaneously. Gone are the days that you need to manually edit each product whenever you need to change their details. It's a feature you will love that will save you time and effort, resulting in more productive and efficient product management for your store.

We will divide this article into sections, so please jump over a topic you are most interested in:

Selecting Products or Variants


In this section, you can select the variants and products that need editing. You can combine up to 10 conditions to narrow down your selection.

To start selecting the products or variants for bulk editing, follow these steps:

1. Go to Price Editor and select Create Price Editor.

2. Type a unique name for your bulk edit.

3. Decide the conditions for the products or variants you want to add.

You have the option to create conditions based on the following choices:

  • Product

  • Variant

  • Manual

  • Import

4. In this example, we've picked Product. The next thing to do is add the filter you want to use.

5. To view the actual products* that are sorted, click the Preview matched products/variants button.

*These products can already be seen in the Preview selected products/variants and modification area.

6. Click + Add another condition to add more conditions and narrow your selection, then repeat step 4.

Previewing and Modifying Selected Products or Variants


This area will display all the products and variants you sorted using the applied conditions. From here, you will already see the number of products and variants you can export into a CSV file.

You can view the product's details from this list, including its title, vendor, stock, and more.

Click the product's title to view a product directly from your Shopify admin.

If you are not satisfied with the products and variants sorted, you can always go back to the Select what products/variants to edit section and add more conditions.

Then click the Preview matched products/variants button again to refresh the sorted products.

Editing Selected Products and Variants

Now that the products and variants from your collection are sorted, it's time to tell the system what specific edits it will perform.

1. Choose whether you need to bulk edit the product and variant's Price, Compare at Price, or Cost.

2. Once done, pick an action from this drop-down list.

Note: You will have more options once you've chosen how your products and variants will be edited. Refer to this article if you need a more detailed explanation of these options.

3. Let's say we want to change the price of all selected products and variants to 5.

4. Once you perform the action, it will instantly change the price of the products and variants from this section.

5. Then, choose the options you want to apply to these products and variants.

6. To set a schedule on when the Bulk Edit will be initiated, click the Schedule Bulk Edit first, then set the schedule of the Bulk Edit.

7. You can also revert back the bulk edit initiated by the system based on your selected schedule.

Let's continue with the bulk edit we performed (refer to step 3). If enabled, this action will restore the product and variant's original price from 5.

8. Click this checkbox to set the default Sales countdown timer for all the products and variants.

Note: Once this option is checked, the system will automatically initiate these actions:

  • A default Sales Countdown Timer will be created for all products and variants selected. This timer will also be linked to the Bulk Edit you are making.

  • The name of the Sales Countdown Timer for the Bulk Edit will be PriceEditorJobName, where JobName, in our case, is "Sample Bulk Edit Name".

9. Click this checkbox to set the default Sales badge for all the products and variants.

Note: Once this option is checked, the system will automatically initiate these actions:

  • A default Sales badge will be created for all products and variants selected. This Sales badge will also be linked to the Bulk Edit you are making.

  • The name of the Sales badge that will be created will be the Sales badge for job-PriceEditorJobName where JobName is "Sample bulk Edit Name".

10. To recur this bulk edit, click the Schedule Bulk Edit Repeat tab first, then select the repeat type you want to use. You can repeat the Bulk edit Daily, Weekly, or Monthly.

11. Set the Start and End Date to determine when to change prices and when to restore the original prices.

12. Then, decide if you want to create the default Sales countdown timer and Sales badge for all your products and variants.

13. Review your Bulk Edit task, then save it

14. You will see the task on the View Tasks page if you have successfully created the task. You can edit, delete, or reschedule the Bulk edit task from here.

15. To view the details of a completed task, click the Details icon.

16. You will also see the progress of the task from this section and the products that were updated.
