Double-click to run the PureVPN app installer.
To install the PureVPN application, you will need enough space in your destination folder.
A prompt window will appear asking you to enter your macOS Username and password.
After typing your macOS username and password click Install software.
When the installation is complete, you may proceed to close the Installation window.
Note: If you encounter difficulties installing the PureVPN app, you can follow these steps: Open the Apple menu, navigate to System Preferences, click on Security & Privacy, and go to the General tab. Under the "Allow apps downloaded from" section, select "App Store and identified developers." By following these instructions, you can resolve any issues related to app installation and proceed with using PureVPN on your macOS device.
Login PureVPN app
After successfully installing the application, simply launch it and proceed to login. Here's a quick guide on how to login to the PureVPN app.
Launch PureVPN app.
Click Login.
You will be redirected to your default browser for login.
Enter your PureVPN email and password (Use the email and password you set up during the purchase).
After entering the account details, click Submit.
Once you click Submit, the PureVPN app will automatically pop-up and you will be logged in to the app.
Note: If you have multiple subscriptions against one email, you will be given an option to choose the account you want to log in to.
Click on your desired PureVPN username, then click Select Account.
Choose a purpose that best suits your VPN needs, and click Continue.
You are now logged into the PureVPN App.
Logout from PureVPN app
If you wish to log out from the PureVPN application, follow these simplified steps.
Click the Profile from the left panel of the PureVPN app.
In the profile section you will be able to see the Logout option. Click Logout to proceed.
You have successfully logged out from PureVPN application.

Connect via recommended server/ location
Curious about the recommended server on PureVPN? Our smart algorithm suggests the optimal server based on geographical distance. For users who are connecting PureVPN for the first time they can simply click Connect icon at the center and the app will connect you to the recommended VPN server.
A successful connection will show the App as connected in Purple color, indicating the start of your secure and anonymous browsing experience. To disconnect, click the Purple button located at the center of the app screen.
Connect with your preferred country
If you prefer to connect to a specific location, PureVPN has got you covered. With a vast network of over 6,500 VPN servers in 70+ countries and 88+ locations, you have a wide range of options to choose from. Easily connect to your desired destination and enjoy a secure and private browsing experience tailored to your preferences with PureVPN.

Choose your preferred location from the list of countries.
You are now Connected to your preferred country.
Connect with your desired city
With this feature, you can easily explore different cities within a country offered in the PureVPN app. Wondering how to choose one? Click the Locations 🌐 at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
Click the Arrow icon provided besides locations and a list of cities will be displayed.
Click your desired City to get connected.
Hooray! You are now Connected to your desired city.
Connect quantum resistant servers
Learn how to establish a connection with quantum-resistant servers using the following step-by-step instructions.
Click the Locations 🌐 at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
From the locations tab, click Quantum Resistant and locations will be sorted accordingly.
Select the QR server location from the location list.
Available locations are US, UK, Australia, Germany, Canada and the Netherlands).
Quantum Resistant servers (QR) works only with UDP protocol. Check out this 👉 link to learn how to change protocol.
Once done you will able to connect the quantum resistant servers and will be even more protected from the internet vulnerabilities.
How to sort locations via ping, popularity, name
Click the Locations 🌐 option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
To sort locations by ping, name or popularity, click the Sorting icon from the top right. You will now see the options to sort them.
To sort countries alphabetically, click Sort by Name.
Countries are now sorted by Names.
To sort countries by popularity, click Sort by Popularity.
Countries are now sorted by Popularity.
To sort countries by ping,click Sort by Ping.
Countries are now sorted by Ping.
Filter P2P location
Click the Locations 🌐 option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
Click the P2P button at the top right.
Once done, you will be able to see P2P supported locations.

Click the Locations 🌐 option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
Go to the Shortcuts option and select desired Shortcut from the list.
You are now connected to the desired shortcut.
After a few seconds, the selected streaming website will open up in your default browser. You may simply login to the streaming website and access it.
Create shortcut for custom website
No need to worry if you can't find your desired website in the list. We've got you covered with the ability to create your own shortcuts.
Curious to know how? Just follow these steps below:
Click the Locations 🌐 option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
Go to the Shortcuts option and click Add Shortcut.
Once you have entered all the information, click Add Shortcut.
Pop-up will appear asking you to confirm. Click Add Shortcut.
You will now be able to see the newly added shortcut in the Custom Shortcuts list.
You are now connected to the newly created shortcut.
After a few seconds, the selected website will open up in your default browser.
Mark location as favorite
Click the Locations 🌐 option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
To mark a location as favorite, click the star icon ⭐ provided besides locations.
Location has been marked as favorite successfully.
Connect with Dedicated IP
Click the Locations 🌐 option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
Click the Dedicated IP option to connect.
You are now Connected successfully with your Dedicated IP Add-on.
In case you’re already connected to your dedicated IP on another device, you'll be prompted accordingly to continue as per choice.
Please note that if you choose to click "Yes," the previous device connected to your dedicated IP address will be disconnected, and your current Mac device will be connected instead. If you choose "No," the connection will remain with your previous device.
Connect with Dedicated Server
Click the Locations 🌐 option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
Click the Dedicated Server option to connect.
You are now Connected successfully with your Dedicated Server.
Rate your session
We highly value your feedback, and rating your VPN session directly on the PureVPN app is a great way to share your experience.
Wondering how to rate your VPN session? Just follow these instructions below:
Connect using the Recommended server option or a desired location of your choice.
Upon successful connection, you’ll see Thumbs up and Thumbs down icons to rate your session.
When you give a Thumbs down, you’ll be asked to choose a category and leave comments. As soon as you fill it, a support ticket will open.

How to Switch Protocol - PureVPN macOS App
Note: To switch between protocols using the PureVPN app, it's necessary to disconnect the app initially. After turning off the Automatic Protocol Selection option, you'll gain visibility into the various VPN protocols that are available.
Protocol Guide:
IPSec:
IPSec is more reliable, but also a little slower, and is usually used for web browsing.
IKEv2:
IKEv2 is one of the fastest VPN protocols that provides stable connection and is usually used for streaming and downloading.
UDP:
UDP is mainly used for streaming and downloading. It provides a fast VPN connection with medium encryption.
Wireguard:
Wireguard provides a fast and secure VPN connection and it’s usually used for web browsing and streaming.

Click the ⚙️ Preferences option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
Select the Protocol tab.
Remove check ☑️ Automatic Protocol Selection to change your protocol selection.
A warning will appear, click Proceed to continue.
Choose the Protocol of your choice from the drop-down menu.
Upon selection, your protocol will be successfully changed.
Note: Some of the protocols are not activated by default. To enable them, a protocol extension needs to be installed on your device.
A Gif will appear with the instructions to install the protocol extension. You can simply follow the Gif to install the protocol extension.
Once done, go back to the Locations tab and connect with your desired location.
Upon successful connection you can see the selected protocol in the Connection details.

Auto connect after launch

In the general settings tab, you will be able to see Auto-connect after launch option.
Once it's turned on. You will be able to see a drop-down menu from where you can choose the desired option to let the application know which location to connect after launching the app. Following options are available to choose from:
Recommended Location:
By choosing this option the application will automatically connect you to the best location server through the Smart algorithm. Click 👉 here to read more.
Recently Connected Location:
By choosing this option the application will automatically connect you to the last connected location.
Specific Location:
By choosing this option the application will connect you to your preferred location.
Note: This won’t be applicable if your system is in sleep mode.
Show notifications
To ensure you stay updated with notifications from PureVPN, including connection status updates and the latest news, upgrades, and offers, follow these simple instructions to enable notifications.
Click the ⚙️ Preferences option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
In the general settings tab, scroll down to be able to see Show VPN connection notifications option.
Mark check ☑️ Show VPN connection notifications (if it’s not checked by default).
Hide the PureVPN App icon from the dock
Want more space on your dock while keeping PureVPN active. Here’s how you can proceed.
Click the ⚙️ Preferences option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
In the general settings tab, scroll down to be able to see the Hide icon from dock option.
Mark check ☑️ Hide icon from the dock (if it’s not checked by default).
Select application language
If you prefer using PureVPN in your native language, you're in luck! The PureVPN application supports multiple major languages. Here's how you can switch between languages.
Click the ⚙️ Preferences option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
In the general settings tab, you will be able to see Change Language option.
Click Change Language. You may proceed to switch to a different language by selecting one from the available options.
A pop-up will appear asking to confirm the language change. Click Relaunch Now to proceed.
PureVPN app will restart and launch into your chosen language.
Start on launch
If you want the PureVPN app to open automatically when you start your computer, here’s a simple guide to help you set it up.
Click the ⚙️ Preferences option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
In the general settings tab, scroll down to be able to see the Start on Launch option.
Mark check ☑️ Start on Launch (if it’s not checked by default).
Hurrah! PureVPN app will now start on launch.
Change appearance of PureVPN

Clear preferences
If you want to reset the PureVPN app back to its default settings, follow these simple instructions.
Click the ⚙️ Preferences option at the left panel of the PureVPN app.
From the General settings, go to the Advanced settings tab by clicking it.
In the advanced settings tab, scroll down below you will be able to see the Clear Preferences option.
Click Clear Preferences to proceed.
Click the Clear button.
Once done, your app preferences has been cleared successfully.
