📦 Quick Guide to Sharps Disposal Recommendations

When someone states they have some type of waste on-site and they want to dispose of it, we need to ask the following questions:

  1. What type of waste is it? What you're looking for here is to identify if the waste is sharps waste (needles, syringes, auto-injectors, etc.), bulk biohazardous waste (bloody gauze, larger amounts of bloody materials, and bodily fluids), Hazardous waste, or pharmaceutical waste.

  2. How much waste (volume) do you have to get rid of now? If there is no waste now, how much waste do you anticipate generating on a monthly basis?

These questions will allow us to assess what type of system we should recommend based on our products for disposal by mail systems for sharps.

When we identify the volume and that a particular size system will work for a patient or business.

We need to supply options for cost savings.

  • For example, let's say a dentist asks what we recommend for his practice.

  • On average, dentists generate 4-6 gallons of sharps waste per year. That means we could offer this dentist a 1.2 gallon and they might need four per year.

  • Another option we can offer is the multipack sharps system, which includes more containers and is a lower cost per container.
