This document will help you understand and learn to identify the type and volume of sharps waste, recommending cost-saving disposal systems and steps to report stolen sharps containers.
Guide on Disposing of Sharps
If someone has a type of waste on-site and wants to dispose it, they must answer the following questions:
What type of waste is it?
What are you looking for here to identify if the waste is sharps waste, bulk biohazardous waste, hazardous waste, or pharmaceutical waste?
How much volume of waste do you have to get rid of it?
If there is no waste, how much waste do you anticipate generating on a monthly basis?
With these questions, we will be able to assess what type of system we can recommend based on our products for disposal by mail systems for sharps. Once we identify the volume and particular size system, we will work for a patient or business.
Report a Stolen Container
If you are a direct PureWay customer, our team can open a case with the carrier to report the stolen package. We can issue a replacement, depending on the situation and shipping status.
However, if you are a patient receiving a container through a medication brand program, we may be able to place a reorder for a replacement, depending on the program's rules. In some cases, you need to reach out to the medication brand's patient support team to report the incident and request a new system.
Note: If your sharp container has been stolen or lost, please reach out to PureWay Customer Support as soon as possible.
