Instruction for Use Boomerang Pak Pharmaceutical Return System

Learn how to safely pack and return medications using the Boomerang Pak system with easy step-by-step instructions.

  1. Unpack the Kit Components
Check your Boomerang Pak kit to make sure all the necessary components are included before you start packing your medications. Keep all components for use during the return.

    Your kit should include:

    • Clear plastic bag (for non-controlled medications)

    • Tamper-evident opaque bags (for DEA controlled substances)

    • Security seal tape

    • Instruction packet with Returns Manifest

  2. Returns Manifest Preparation
Before packing your medications, you need to complete the returns paperwork. This ensures everything is properly documented for non-controlled and DEA-controlled substances.

    Non-Controlled Medications:

    • Fill out the returns manifest (from the instructions packet).

    • Log in to the RP Returns Client Portal and document your inventory.

    • Sign and place a copy of the manifest inside the return box.

  3. Packaging of Pharmaceuticals
Use the right bags for non-controlled and controlled substances, and make sure everything is secure to prevent spills or damage during shipping.

    • Non-Controlled
Place inside the clear plastic bag.

    • Controlled Substances
      Use the tamper-evident opaque bag.

    • Ensure:

      • No loose pills or sharps.

      • Items are in original containers (or sealed plastic bags).

      • Liquids are wrapped to prevent leakage.

  4. Finalize Packing and Ship
Once everything is packed, finalize your box and ship it. Make sure all items and paperwork are inside, seal the box securely, and drop it off with UPS shipping is already prepaid.

    • Insert:

      • Place your bagged medications inside the box.

      • Include the signed returns manifest.

      • Close the box and seal it with the security tape.

      • Drop it off at a UPS location or give it to a UPS driver.

      • Shipping and processing are prepaid

  5. Access Reports Post-Return
After your return has been processed, you can log in to the portal to access important documents, like your Certificate of Destruction and other records specific to your return.

Log in to the portal to retrieve:
