Updated this week

Here are the frequently asked questions about Injection Disposal.

How do I dispose of my used GLP-1 injection pen?

To dispose of a used GLP-1 injection pen, place it immediately into a PureWay sharps container. Once sharps container is full, return it using the pre-paid shipping box for safe disposal.

Can I throw my injection pen in the trash if it has a cap?

Allowance of throwing injection pens with a cap in the trash depends on your state’s regulations. Some states may allow capped auto-injectors to be placed in the household trash.

Note: We highly recommend using a mail-back sharps disposal system like PureWay’s to protect sanitation workers and the environment from accidental exposure and injury.

How often should I replace my sharps container?
