Select the Right Trigger for your Flow (Pyn 2)

Learn how to set up an automated flow with the right information from your HRIS

Written by Dame Dingding

Automated flows help you deliver the right message at the right time, without the manual work. With Pyn, you can start quickly by using a pre-built trigger, so important communications go out automatically when an employee reaches a key moment in their journey.

Step 1: Go to Flows

  • From the navigation menu, select Flows.

  • Click Create Flow.

Step 2: Choose a Pre-Built Trigger

  • Select Use Pre-Built Trigger.

  • Browse available triggers (e.g., New Hire starts, Work Anniversary, Manager Change).

  • Click the trigger you’d like to use.

💡 Tip: Pre-built triggers automatically connect to your HRIS data, so messages are sent when the right lifecycle event occurs.

Step 3: Add or Select a Message

  • Choose a pre-written template from the Pyn Library or create your own message.

  • Edit the copy, tone, and delivery channel (Slack, Teams, or email).

  • Add personalization tokens (like employee name, start date, or manager name) to make the message feel more human.

Step 4: Configure Delivery Settings

  • Set when the message should go out (e.g., Day 1 at 9 a.m., 1 week before anniversary).

  • Select the channel: Slack, Teams, or email.

Step 5: Review and Save

  • Double-check the trigger, message, and delivery details.

  • Click Save & Activate.

Your flow is now live! The next time the pre-built trigger event happens (for example, a new hire joins), your message will send automatically.
