Why connect your personal Slack account?
Connecting your personal Slack account allows Pyn to send direct messages on your behalf. This creates a more personalized experience for the recipient and allows them to reply directly to you within Slack!
Before you start: Make sure your company’s Slack workspace is installed and active in Pyn under Settings > Integrations.
Step-by-Step: Add Your Slack Sender
1. Go to Settings
From the left-hand navigation bar, click on Settings (located at the bottom near your avatar).
2. Open the Senders page
Inside Settings, select Senders and make sure you are on the All tab.
3. Click Add in the top right
Click the blue Add button in the top right corner and select Add Slack Sender from the dropdown menu.
4. Complete Slack authorization
You will be redirected to Slack's permission screen:
Verify that the correct workspace is selected in the top right.
Review the permissions (allowing Pyn to send messages on your behalf).
Click Allow to authorize.
5. You're ready!
Once authenticated, you will be redirected back to Pyn. Your Slack handle and avatar will now appear in the active Senders list and be available to select when configuring message steps in your Flows and Campaigns.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can other teammates send messages as me?
No. Other users in your organization cannot send messages as you unless you explicitly grant them permission as a collaborator on that sender alias.
What if my Slack sender disconnects or needs re-authentication?
Navigate to Settings > Senders > Needs Attention to re-authenticate your connection at any time.
