Why connect to your HRIS?
The best way to fully leverage Pyn 2 is by ensuring you have accurate, up-to-date information about your employees in the platform. Connecting your HRIS powers your Employee Journey Maps, automates Flow triggers (such as start dates, promotions, anniversaries, and birthdays), and keeps your Directory in sync via hourly updates.

6. Manual File Upload / CSV
If your organization does not connect directly via API, select File Upload under Settings > Integrations or import directly from the Directory tab using a CSV/XLS
Your spreadsheet can be simple - just three columns with "Email", "Name", and "Manager Email" as the column headings. The columns should have the following information:
Email - employee email address
Name - employee preferred name
Manager Email - employee's manager's email address (this column is optional)
You can also choose to include employee start date and time zone information as well. This will help you to leverage Pyn's timing and automation features. For help with how time zones should appear in your spreadsheet, see this list of time zones for the timezone name to include. For date format, you can use
YYYY/MM/DD(preferred),MM/DD/YYYY, orDD/MM/YYYY, and Pyn will automatically determine the date system you are using. We have also provided a template you can use here.
What Happens Next?
Hourly Sync: Pyn runs automated checks on your connected HRIS every hour to pull new hires, updates, and departures into your Directory.
Directory Verification: Go to the Directory tab to verify that your active employee list, reporting lines, and demographic groups have populated accurately. For bigger organization, the sync time may be longer.
Activate Flows: Once employee records are synced, your scheduled Flows (e.g., Onboarding, First-Time Manager, Milestone Anniversaries) will automatically identify eligible recipients based on their lifecycle events.
