Information on how to get employee data into Pyn with our HRIS Integrations

Why connect to your HRIS?

The best way to fully leverage the power of Pyn is by making sure you have accurate, up-to-date information about your employees in the Pyn platform.

There are two ways to input your employee data into Pyn.

  1. Integrating with your HRIS. Currently supported HRIS integrations include BambooHR, Namely and Workday.

  2. Connecting via SFTP

Permissions needed from your HRIS

To integrate with your HRIS, Pyn needs access to at least:

  • The employee directory including email, division, location, and department

  • The organization chart (each employee's manager)

  • Start and termination dates

  • Job Information

πŸ”„ Integrating with BambooHR

It's easy to set up BambooHR directly through Pyn πŸ™‚

  1. After logging in to Pyn, click on Integrations and select BambooHR.

  2. Click the link that says "Connect."

  3. Enter your BambooHR subdomain (<subdomain>.bamboohr.com) and click OK.

    You will then be taken to the BambooHR login screen.

  4. Log in to BambooHR.

    When BambooHR asks if you'd like to connect to Pyn, click Yes.

You will be redirected to Pyn and your integration is now active. Hooray, you are done! πŸŽ‰

πŸ”„ Integrating with Workday

1 - Setting up the Report as a Service feature

Your Workday Administrator will need to create a report using the "Report as a Service" or RaaS feature.

  • Ideally the report they create should include these fields:

    • Active_Status

    • BusinessTitle

    • Department_Name

    • Employee_ID

    • Exempt

    • Hire_Date

    • Home_Email_Address (If Pre-Onboarding automation is active).

    • Job_Level

    • Location

    • Manager_ID

    • Preferred_Name

    • Termination_Date

    • Time_Zone (IANA format like Australia/Sydney)

    • Work_Country

    • WorkEmail

2- Provide access to the RaaS

In order for the Pyn system to access the RaaS, you will need the following information from your Workday Administrator:

  • url (JSON)

  • username

  • password

3- Pyn will validate the RaaS

Once you have the above information, contact Pyn so that we are able to validate the RaaS is working as expected.

4 - Activation!

Pyn can now activate the Workday integration!

It's easy to set up Namely directly through Pyn

  1. Log in to Pyn

  2. Navigate to Integrations and select Namely

  3. Click the button that says "Connect."

  4. Enter your Namely subdomain (<subdomain>.namely.com) and your API key and click Connect.
