To maintain an active session on Windows Server 2022 indefinitely, you can adjust the session time limits through Group Policy settings. Here’s how:

1. Open the Group Policy Editor:

Press Win + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter.

2. Navigate to Session Time Limits:

Go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Session Time Limits.

3. Configure Session Settings:

Double-click on Set time limit for active but idle Remote Desktop Services sessions, set it to Enabled, and choose Never.

Double-click on Set time limit for disconnected sessions, set it to Enabled, and choose Never.

Double-click on Set time limit for active Remote Desktop Services sessions, set it to Enabled, and choose Never.

4. Apply the Changes:

Click OK to save each setting.

Run gpupdate /force in Command Prompt to apply the new policies immediately.

For more detailed guidance, refer to Microsoft’s documentation on configuring session time limits.

Additionally, enabling the Configure keep-alive connection interval policy can help maintain session stability.
