How to Use Multiple Monitors on Your VPS

Use all your monitors in your VPS session — enable multi-display RDP on Windows and Mac in a few clicks.

You can use all of your monitors in your VPS session by enabling multi-monitor support in your Remote Desktop client. Follow the steps below for Windows or macOS.

Windows Users

Step #1: Open Remote Desktop Connection

  1. Open Remote Desktop Connection (RDP).

  2. Click Show Options.

  3. Go to the Display tab.

  4. Check “Use all my monitors for the remote session.\"

  5. Click Connect.

Using Only Specific Monitors

Don't want to use every monitor connected to your local machine? You don't have to enable "Use all my monitors for the remote session." Leave that option unchecked, and instead resize and position the Remote Desktop Connection window across only the display(s) you want to use before clicking Connect — the session will span whichever monitor(s) the window covers.

macOS Users

Step #1: Open Windows App

  1. Open the Windows App (formerly Microsoft Remote Desktop).

  2. Select your saved QuantVPS connection.

  3. Click Edit.

  4. Go to the Display tab.

  5. Check “Use all monitors.”

  6. Click Save.

Using Only Specific Monitors

To use a subset of your monitors instead of all of them, leave "Use all monitors" unchecked on the Display tab — Windows App will only use the monitor(s) covered by the client window, so resize/position it across just the displays you want before saving and connecting.
