Adding external users to your QuantVPS organization allows them to collaborate on server management tasks, share resources, and streamline workflows. This guide walks you through the steps to invite a new member and assign the appropriate access levels.
Prerequisites
1. Organization Owner or Admin Access: You must have permissions that allow you to manage users.
2. User’s Email Address: Ensure you have the correct email address of the person you want to invite.
Steps to Add an External User
1. Log In to QuantVPS
• Go to the QuantVPS website and sign in.
2. Navigate to The Members Tab
• After logging in, locate and click your members tab in the dashboard.
3. Access the ‘Members’ Section
• In the organization’s settings, look for a menu item labeled Members.
4. Click ‘Invite’
• You’ll see a button labeled Invite. Click on it to open the invitation form.
5. Enter the User’s Details
• Provide the user’s email address.
• Select the appropriate Member Role
6. Send the Invitation
• After confirming the user’s details and role, click Send Invitation.
• An invite email will be sent to the new user with instructions on how to set up or link their account.
7. User Accepts the Invitation
• The user should receive an email with a unique link.
• Once they click the link and create (or log into) their QuantVPS account, they will be prompted to join your organization.
8. Provide Access and Permissions
• Return to the Overview tab.
• Choose the server that you want to assign and click Manage Access
• Check the box for the member and click Add.
Done! The member will now have access to the assigned server within their dashboard.
Best Practices
• Limit Permissions: Assign the least-privileged role that still allows the new user to fulfill their tasks.
• Monitor Activity: Review user activity logs periodically to ensure everything is running smoothly and securely.
