⚠️ Warning: Reinstalling your VPS will erase everything on it, including all files, programs, and settings. After the reinstall, you’ll receive a new administrator (Windows) or root (Linux) password in your QuantVPS dashboard. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

When reinstalling, you can choose from:

Windows Server

  • Windows Server 2019

  • Windows Server 2022

  • Windows Server 2025

  • Scroll below the Credentials section under Server Manager.

  • Locate the Reinstall Operating System panel (as shown in the screenshot).

  1. Select a New Operating System

  • Use the dropdown menu to choose Windows Server (2019, 2022, or 2025) or Ubuntu (20.04, 22.04, or 24.04).

  • Click Reinstall.

  • A warning will remind you this action is not reversible.

  • Confirm to proceed.

  1. Wait for Provisioning

  • The reinstall process usually takes 5–15 minutes. Allow sufficient time for it to complete entirely.

  • During this period, avoid interrupting or trying to access the VPS.

  • Once finished, your VPS will be reset to the selected OS.

  1. Retrieve New Credentials

  • After the reinstall, your new login credentials can be found directly in your QuantVPS dashboard under the "Credentials" section, ensuring you're using the latest password.

  • Disregard any previously saved credentials as they will no longer be valid.

Steps to Regain VPS Access After Reinstallation

1. Update Your Remote Desktop Client

  • Open your Remote Desktop client or equivalent software.

  • Remove any outdated or cached credentials associated with your VPS, as these can prevent a successful login.

  • Enter the new password retrieved from your QuantVPS dashboard.

2. Attempt to Reconnect

  • Once you’ve updated your credentials, attempt to reconnect to the VPS using your Remote Desktop client.

3. Troubleshoot Login Issues

  • Double-check that you’re using the correct password provided in the QuantVPS dashboard.

  • Restart your local machine and the VPS to ensure there are no lingering issues.

  • Verify that your internet connection is stable and reliable.
