If you selected the wrong region when ordering your VPS, or simply want to move your server closer to a different trading endpoint, you can easily change your location at any time.
🌍 Available Server Locations
We currently offer several optimized regions tailored for different trading instruments:
Chicago — Best for Futures traders, offering ultra-low latency to CME and other major futures exchanges.
New York — Best for Equities, Options, and Forex, with fast connectivity to NYSE, NASDAQ, Schwab, IBKR, NY4, and related liquidity hubs.
London (coming soon) — Ideal for Forex and CFDs, designed for optimal routing to major European brokers and prop firms.
Option 1 — Order a New VPS in the Correct Region (Self-Migration)
The fastest and most flexible method is to order a new VPS from your QuantVPS dashboard in the desired region. This lets you perform a self-migration — meaning you can keep both VPS servers online simultaneously and copy over any files, settings, or platform data at your own pace.
Steps
Log in to your QuantVPS dashboard
Click Order New Server.
Choose the correct Region (for example: Chicago, New York, London, Frankfurt, Singapore, etc.).
Complete checkout and wait for your new VPS to be provisioned.
Log into both VPS instances and copy any necessary files or platform data between them.
Once finished, you can cancel your old VPS in the previous location from your dashboard at any time.
Tip: This method allows you to transfer files while both environments are active — perfect if you need to test or configure your new setup before retiring the old one.
Option 2 — Request a Migration (Team-Assisted)
If you prefer our team to handle the migration for you:
Log in to your existing VPS.
From the Start Menu, select Shutdown (not Restart).
Once the VPS is fully shut down, open a Support Ticket through your dashboard or live chat.
Confirm that your VPS has been shut down and specify which region you’d like to move to.
Our team will migrate your data, re-provision your VPS in the new region, and update your IP address.
Notes
Migration time can take 2–16 hours, depending on the size of your data.
Your subscription and billing plan remains the same, only the region changes.
For safety, we always recommend backing up any critical files before migration.
