If you selected the wrong region when ordering your VPS, or simply want to move your server closer to a different trading endpoint, you can change your location at any time. There is no self-service change-location button. You can deploy a new server in the new location yourself, or ask our team to migrate your server for you.
Available Server Locations
We currently offer 8 locations tailored for different trading instruments:
Chicago: Futures. About 0.5 ms to CME.
New York: For Equities, Options, and Forex, with connectivity to NYSE, NASDAQ, Schwab, IBKR, NY4, and related liquidity hubs.
London: Forex and CFDs, close to UK and European brokers.
Dublin: Our Polymarket location, under 1 ms to Polymarket's London servers. Dublin runs Ubuntu 24.04 (no Windows).
Amsterdam and Frankfurt: European brokers and exchanges.
Tokyo and Singapore: Asian markets and brokers.
Option 1: Deploy a New Server in the New Location (Self-Migration)
You can deploy a new server from your QuantVPS dashboard in the location you want. This lets you perform a self-migration, meaning you can keep both VPS servers online simultaneously and copy over any files, settings, or platform data at your own pace.
Steps
Log in to your QuantVPS dashboard
Click Deploy New Server.
Choose the correct Region: Chicago, New York, London, Dublin, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Tokyo or Singapore.
Complete checkout and wait for your new VPS to be provisioned.
Log into both VPS instances and copy any necessary files or platform data between them.
Once finished, you can cancel your old VPS in the previous location from your dashboard at any time.
Tip: This method allows you to transfer files while both environments are active, perfect if you need to test or configure your new setup before retiring the old one.
Billing note: Because this method involves deploying a new server, you'll be billed for both the new and old servers during the overlap period. Cancel your old VPS as soon as migration is complete to stop that charge. Refunds and any billing credit for unused time on the old VPS are subject to our standard Refund Policy. Reach out to support if you have questions about proration.
Option 2: Request a Migration (Team-Assisted)
If you prefer our team to move your server for you:
In your dashboard, go to Support > Open Support Ticket. Say which region you want to move to. Team-assisted moves are available to New York, Chicago, London, Amsterdam and Tokyo.
Keep using your VPS as normal. Wait for our team to reply and confirm the move.
When you are ready to start, save your work and close your trading platforms.
Connect to your VPS, click Start, then the Power icon, then Shut down. Do not choose Restart or just close the Remote Desktop window.
Wait 2 to 5 minutes for Windows to power off, then reply to your ticket to say the VPS is shut down.
We move your data to the new region. When the move is done, your new IP address is shown in your dashboard. Update any broker or prop firm IP whitelists.
Your VPS is offline during the move, so plan it outside your trading hours.
Notes
Migration time can take 2 to 16 hours, depending on the size of your data.
Your subscription and billing plan remains the same, only the region changes.
For safety, we always recommend backing up any critical files before migration.
