There are two types of emails that you will receive from Qwoted:

  1. Request Roundup (Daily at 2 PM Local Time): A once-daily summary of the most relevant media requests to you that have been posted in the last 24 hours.

  2. Topical Alerts (Real-Time Notifications): Instant email alerts for new media requests that match profiles, previous pitch topics, and the tags at the top of the profile.

In order to navigate to your Tailor my alert settings you will go to the top right drop down menu and select My Settings:

On the top navigation, you will then select “Tailor my alerts”

Please note that you will still navigate to the Alerts section in order to turn your email alerts on or off. The Tailor my alerts section will help to further customize your settings.

You can adjust your notification frequency by dragging the top bar either left or right.

As you drag the bar left, you will minimize or decrease the notifications that come into your inbox each day. Your alerts will be more specific and customized to your key words.

Please note that you will see our system will “Unfollow” tags for you automatically based the frequency set above.

For Example: If I set my bar all the way left, but I am currently following a high volume tag, the system will unfollow that tag. A general rule is the higher volume a tag is typically the more “general” or generic that tag is. Therefore generating a high volume of emails. If I was following “HealthCare” I would automatically unfollow showing that I do not want the volume associated with that key word.

In turn, the further right, the increase in volume and the increase in your willingness to see more general tags and matches in your inbox.

Under the Hashtags you Follow section, you can view the relative frequency of of a tag and how often it is used in Qwoted.

You can select to Unfollow tags at any point, and they will then appear within the Unfollowed Tab:

Unfollow means: You no longer want to be notified when that Tag is posted as part of a new opportunity.

Blocking a tag means that you will never get notified about an opportunity if it includes that key word.

Here is an example of Blocking: As a Dog Groomer I want to get notified about opportunities that include the tag #Dog. Oftentimes when journalists are looking for expertise regarding dogs, they are hoping for someone who has credentials as a Veterinarian. In those instances the opportunity would include the #Veterinarian.

As a dog groomer, I would not have the credentials to contribute to opportunities that need a Veterinarian so I can block the tag so that anytime an opportunity includes some of my matching tags such as #Dog, but also includes #Veterinarian then I would not get that in my inbox.

You can Follow a tag back at any point and remove it from your Blocked list.
