Source Request

These make up the majority of the opportunities you’ll see on Qwoted. They’re created directly by journalists and reporters who are seeking experts to speak on specific topics. These requests can range from calls for expert commentary and product recommendations to speaker opportunities or “man on the street” quotes, where the journalist is looking for everyday perspectives rather than formal expertise.

Click here for more information on how to pitch for these opportunities.

Welcome Request

When a new journalist/reporter joins Qwoted, our system with create a "Welcome Request" for them, which is an opportunity for you to introduce yourself and your expertise. Welcome Requests are free to respond to, so feel free to reach out and make a great first impression. It’s a simple way to start building relationships with new members of the media community.

Media Matches/Start a Conversation

These cards appear in your feed under the Media Matcher tab, but some will come through on the "All Opportunities" tab, too. They highlight media users on Qwoted who have previously written about, or submitted requests related to, the topic or term you searched for.

Engaging with a Media Matcher opportunity costs 1 pitch, but it allows you to start a direct conversation even if the journalist hasn’t posted a current request.

Keep in mind that they may not be working on a relevant story at the time of your outreach, so consider inviting them to Favorite or Save your profile for future opportunities where your expertise could be a fit.
