Adding topical tags to your profile helps Qwoted identify media opportunities that may be relevant to you and surface them to your email inbox. Topical tags are one of several signals our system uses when determining which opportunities to notify you about.
The topical tags are meant to reflect the industry areas and subject matter you’re interested in pitching commentary around. You can add up to 50 tags per profile, so feel free to start broad or get more granular depending on your expertise.
In addition to influencing email alerts, topical tags provide reporters with a quick snapshot of what you focus on. They also help improve your visibility when reporters search the expert database for sources on specific topics.
After adding relevant topical tags that align with the industries and subject areas you want to pitch, you may receive email notifications about opportunities related to those themes, along with other opportunities our system identifies as a potential match.
To tailor your alerts even further, visit the Tailor Your Alerts page in your Settings. There, you can refine your preferences to better control the types of opportunities you’re notified about.
You can add tags easily in your profile here (https://app.qwoted.com/my_interests). Simply click the "Add tags" button at the top of your profile. Search for relevant topics that you are looking to pitch journalists about, and add them to your profile.
Note: PR users will also receive alerts for tags added to their represented Expert profiles.
Having an issue with adding your tags?
Please note, do NOT include the # symbol when adding your tags. This will cause them to not save.
Example:
Incorrect: #InvestmentBanking
Correct: InvestmentBanking
As you start to type with no hashtag symbol, the dropdown menu will appear with suggestions and you can select from the list.
