No insurer can insure every vehicle. That's why it's really important to get a quote in your app or start a chat to check before you buy a vehicle.
How we work out if we'll insure a vehicle on your policy
Like other insurers, we look at lots of different factors when we're working out your quote:
Vehicle specifications: make and model, engine size, year of manufacture and value can all affect whether we'll insure a vehicle and for what price
You as a driver: your unique personal details in combination with the new vehicle can dictate whether we'll insure you in that vehicle
Changing pricing rules: even changing to a vehicle with the exact same make, model and year could be an issue if our rules about what we'll insure have changed since we first insured you
Big takeaway: always check with us and don't run the risk of having to cancel your policy because we can't insure a vehicle you've already bought.
There are some vehicles we won't insure
All insurers have a list of vehicles that they won't insure at all.
Specialist vehicles: high value, high performance or classic cars
Vehicles that are especially at risk of being stolen, like Range Rovers
What to do if you've bought a vehicle that we won't insure
It's a condition of your policy that your details are accurate and up to date at all times. If you buy a new vehicle and we can't cover it, you have seven days to update the vehicle on your policy, or we'll have to cancel it.
If you apply for a quote in the app for a vehicle you've already bought, we'll let you know if we can't insure it and what to do.
Always check before buying a vehicle
You can run as many quotes for changing the vehicle on your policy as you like, so when you're looking for a new vehicle, check there first.
