Having app notifications on is very important
We understand that you get lots of notifications from apps every day and we don't want to add to the noise. However, having notifications on is vital because it's how we tell you important information about your policy.
Not having notifications on means you might miss communication from us - which could lead to us having to cancel your policy. When we have something important to tell you, we try to communicate in several ways so you don't miss anything, but you do need to stay aware.
Things we contact you about
1. Your device isn't connected or isn't sending us data
If your device has disconnected for some reason or we're not getting data from you, we'll be in touch. This is because sending us driving data is a condition of your policy.
If you're not driving (for example, if you're on holiday), just start a chat with us and we'll make sure you don't get reminders for that time.
2. You've indicated you need to make a change to your policy
If you tell us about a change to your policy but don't pay the extra premium, we'll send reminders. This is because your policy must be up to date at all times.
3. You've been driving dangerously
Driving carefully is a condition of your policy (if you're a pay-per-mile customer, this doesn't apply).
If you do drive dangerously, we'll let you know to check your emails for information about what's happened and what to do next.
4. You're close to your declared mileage
Being accurate with your declared mileage is important because how much you drive is closely tied to how likely you are to make a claim.
If you're getting close to your mileage or you've exceeded it, we'll let you know so you can update the declaration.
Always keep notifications on
It's very important that you know what's going on with your insurance policy. We'll remind you by email or SMS if you've turned notifications off.
