See how to create courses with lessons and quizzes

Building Courses: Courses can be built using existing lessons and/or quizzes or through creating new ones from the course builder page.

*Available for accounts with access to RackCoach's Pro and Trial subscription levels

Prior to building a course, please check out the Course Lessons and Course Quizzes articles for a walk through on creating each.

Creating a New Course:

Course Details:

  1. Navigate to the Course Builder page by clicking Courses from the left side navigation menu and selecting "Course Builder"

  2. Click the "+" button in the upper right corner of the page

  3. Enter a name, author and description for the course

    1. Tags may be added to the course as well for description purposes only

  4. Add a banner image for the course

  5. Click the blue "Next" button

Adding Lessons & Quizzes:

  1. Click the blue "+ Add Section" to add the first section to the course

    1. Enter a section title

  2. Begin adding lessons and quizzes to the section

    1. To add lessons and quizzes to the section, the following options are available:

      1. Create a new lesson

      2. Add an existing lesson from you lessons library

      3. Create a new quiz

      4. Add an existing quiz from your quiz library

  3. Continue adding sections, lessons and quizzes as needed

  4. Click the blue "Next" button when ready to move on

Creating & Assigning the Course:

Courses may be assigned or created as a template or saved as a draft. Courses can be assigned publicly to other coaches, privately to selected coaches, or assigned within your school to teams, rosters, or individual athletes. Templates allow you to reuse the same course over time with different audiences. Drafts allow you to save your progress and come back at a later time to finish the course/template.

  1. Select/deselect "Create as a Template" OR Choose the course privacy to assign it

    1. if opting to save the course as a template, check the "Create as a Template" box, then click the blue "Create" button

    2. if opting to assign the course:

      1. Select the course privacy, either private (select coaches), public (any coach on Rack) or school only (to teams, rosters or individual athletes)

      2. If applicable select the coach(es), athlete(s), team(s) and or roster(s) you wish to assign the course to

      3. When coaches are selected, their name will appear under "Selected Users". From here they may be a participant and view/complete the course OR they may be an instructor in which they have full edit/management access to the course as the creator would

    3. Click either the yellow "Draft" button or blue "Publish" button to save and move forward with the course.
