What is Voice Integrity and how does it affect my calls?

Voice Integrity is a carrier reputation program for your calling numbers. Learn how it differs from STIR/SHAKEN and what Raise More tracks.

What Voice Integrity is

Voice Integrity is a carrier-facing reputation and branding program for the phone numbers you call from. It is one of several behind-the-scenes registrations that influence how phone carriers treat your outbound calls. This article explains what it is, how it is different from STIR/SHAKEN, and what Raise More tracks for you.

Voice Integrity is a trust program that registers your calling numbers and the business behind them with the carrier ecosystem. The goal is to associate your caller ID with a known, registered organization so that carriers and their spam-analytics partners have more context about who is placing the call.

A number that is enrolled in Voice Integrity is more likely to be recognized as legitimate business traffic rather than anonymous or unregistered traffic. In some cases, registration can support how a call is presented to the person you are dialing, including reducing the chance it is labeled as "Spam Likely" or a similar warning.

Voice Integrity is about reputation and identity rather than the connection of a single call. It works at the level of your number and your registered business profile, and it influences how carriers treat your traffic over time.

How it differs from STIR/SHAKEN

These two often get grouped together, but they do different jobs.

STIR/SHAKEN is about attestation. It is a signing system that lets the originating carrier vouch for the fact that the call is really coming from the number it claims to be coming from. Attestation levels (A, B, or C) describe how strongly the carrier can confirm that the caller is authorized to use that number. STIR/SHAKEN answers the question "is this call really from this number?"

Voice Integrity is about reputation. It registers the number and the organization behind it so the wider carrier ecosystem has context about who you are. It answers more of a "who is this caller and are they a known, registered business?" question.

STIR/SHAKEN verifies the number on each call. Voice Integrity registers the standing of the number and business over time. They are separate programs with separate registrations, and a number can be in different states for each. Having one does not automatically give you the other.

How it affects your calls

Voice Integrity can improve how carriers treat calls from your registered numbers, which may reduce the likelihood that your calls are flagged or mislabeled. It does not change anything about the audio quality or the actual phone connection.

Voice Integrity is a positive signal, not a guarantee. Carriers and their spam-detection partners make their own decisions using many factors, including how a number is being used, call volume, answer rates, and complaints. A number can still be flagged or labeled as spam even when it is enrolled in Voice Integrity. Raise More cannot guarantee any specific carrier behavior, because that decision is made by the carriers, not by Raise More.

What Raise More tracks

Raise More tracks a Voice Integrity approval state for each of your caller IDs. This state is synced from our calling provider so that your account reflects the current registration status of each number.

We also monitor your numbers for Voice Integrity coverage. If a registered business profile has no caller ID showing Voice Integrity approval, that gap is surfaced internally so our team can look into it. This monitoring runs in the background and does not require any action from you.

What you can do

  • Make sure your caller IDs are added and verified in Raise More so they can be registered and synced correctly.

  • Keep your calling behavior consistent with good practices: reasonable call volume, accurate caller information, and respecting do-not-contact requests. Reputation programs respond to how numbers are actually used.

  • If you see your calls being labeled as spam or you are concerned about a number's standing, contact Raise More support. We can review the Voice Integrity and attestation state for your numbers and help with next steps.

FAQ

Does Voice Integrity guarantee my calls will not be marked as spam?

No. It is a positive reputation signal, but carriers make their own labeling decisions. A number can still be flagged even when enrolled.

Is Voice Integrity the same as STIR/SHAKEN?

No. STIR/SHAKEN verifies that a call really comes from the claimed number on a per-call basis. Voice Integrity registers the number and the business behind it for reputation purposes. They are separate.

Do I need to set up Voice Integrity myself?

The registration and status syncing are handled through Raise More and our calling provider. Your main job is to add and verify your caller IDs. If you have questions about a specific number's status, contact support.

How long does it take to affect my calls?

Reputation programs work over time and depend on carrier behavior, so there is no fixed timeline for any change in how your calls are presented.

My calls are still being flagged. What should I do?

Contact Raise More support. We can check the Voice Integrity and attestation state of your numbers and advise on what else may be affecting how carriers treat your calls.
