Enable Study Incentives
Navigate the Plan stage of the study builder.
Select the toggle to enable incentives.
Type of incentive: Cash or Gift Card (via Tremendous) is selected by default and also includes charity options.
Studies only allow one incentive type; Tremendous Incentives or Custom Incentives - learn more to configure and log Custom Incentives instead.
βCharity Donations (via Tremendous) can be selected if all participants in the study aren't able to accept incentives due to company policies or other rules, and restricted to showing recipients charity options when they redeem. With Cash or Gift Card (via Tremendous) selected, you can still flexibly select Charity Donations (via Tremendous) when sending incentives out.
Amount: Enter the default incentive value offered.
This value can be used as a personalization token to populate email templates with the offered incentive amount in study invitations.
You can edit the actual amount sent when sending incentives as needed.
Currency: Defaults to USD, with optional flexibility to define a different currency that will be applied to the entire study and all incentives sent. Learn more below.
Non-USD incentives: When sending non-USD incentives, the money will be charged instantly on send to avoid exchange rate fluctuations and cannot be canceled once sent for this reason. Most relevant to international customers.
USD is typically recommended, allowing recipients worldwide to choose from over 2,000 options in 230+ countries when redeeming. Unclaimed USD incentives can be canceled.
See the full Participant Incentive Redemption Experience for more info.
Budget: Select the Budget to be used for these incentives.
Depending on user permissions, you can Add Funds to the selected Budget here, or wait to add funds before sending incentives later.
Multi-Currency Incentives
We've added multi-currency support, allowing you to send incentives in a different currency, to better support companies based outside the US or regularly conducting research with specific location-based targeting.
Note: Selecting a different incentive currency on a study is not required for research conducted internationally, as Rally incentives support over 230+ countries and allow participants to select their own currency when redeeming. See our Participant Incentive Redemption Experience to learn more.
Study-specific currencies currently supported:
US Dollar (USD)
Euro (EUR)
British Pound (GBP)
Canadian Dollar (CAD)
Australian Dollar (AUD)
New Zealand Dollar (NZD)
π¨ When sending non-USD incentives, the money will be charged instantly on send to avoid exchange rate fluctuations. Please note that non-USD incentives cannot be canceled once sent.
Configure a study's incentive currency in the Plan setup of study setup by enabling incentives and selecting a currency from the dropdown.
Benefit: If you send 100 euros, the person will get 100 euros no matter the exchange rate. Compared to sending 100$, which if they redeem on the wrong day could be worth less.
