How do I view my portfolio?

When you have funded your account and the investments have been purchased your Rask Invest login will show your portfolio.

What am I able to see on my investor dashboard?

From your dashboard and menu you are able to view:

  • Performance: This displays your contributions compared to the portfolio value over time

  • Set a goal for your balance to achieve

  • View all holdings via the Holdings section - this includes the ETF, units, average purchase price, current value and unrealised capital gain or loss

  • Reports - we also have a number of additional reports you can run such is realised and unrealised capital gains.

When does the data feed for the dashboard refresh?

The data feeds finish running at approximately 9pm and 7:30am daily. Therefore, after 9pm you will see that day's closing value. It runs again at 7:30am just as a back up, pulling the closing value again.

What reports can I generate and what format are they available?

Investors are able to generate the following reports in either a PDF or CSV file format:

  • Cash transactions

  • Investment income

  • Realised capital gains

  • Unrealised capital gains

I can't see the report I need, how can I request a report?

Yes, the best way to request a report is via the chat function in the bottom right of the screen.

Can I have the transactions come through to my Navexa or Sharesight account?

Yes, you can! Simply email your Navexa or Sharesight account email address to invest@rask.com.au and we will enter it into the system and you will have a history of all transactions.

When are the tax statements available?

The PMA tax statements are usually released in mid to late September.

Why mid to late September?

We must wait for the final distribution breakdowns from the underlying investments to ensure that we correctly provide you with the details for income tax, capital gains tax, franking credits and much more that is not available until September.

Where do I find my tax statement?

You can find your tax statement in the Tax Statement section under Quick Links on the Rask Invest Dashboard. This link will take you to the Tax Statement section. Your tax statement will also be emailed to you.

Pre-filled tax information

Your Rask Invest PMA will hold several different ETFs depending on the portfolio(s) you've invested in.

Each ETF provider will automatically send your tax data to the ATO for pre-filling in your myTax online portal.

This data is usually available fairly soon; however, you need to wait for the Tax Statement/Combined Report from Rask Invest as this will include consolidated information and amounts you may be able to claim for fees charged.

Are the Rask Invest management fees tax deductible and where do I find them on the statement?

The Rask Invest fees may be tax deductible, please check with your accountant.

If you are claiming a tax deduction for fees, this will be reported in the deductions section of your tax statement.

I have a company account but no tax summary was included

If you have a Rask Invest PMA opened in the name of a company, you will receive a PMA annual statement but no tax summary.

Tax summaries are not included in statements issued to companies.

Companies can use the following reports included in the package to complete their annual accounts and therefore their tax returns:

  • Investment Income Detailed Report

    • This report provides the breakdown of any dividends received during the year

  • Distribution Reconciliation Report

    • This report provides the breakdown of any distributions received during the year

    • Realised Capital Gains

    • Provides details of any capital gains during the year, and the split between discount and other gains

If you have a Company that is a Not for Profit or registered as a charity, you can email invest@rask.com.au, and we can provide you with more tax information to meet your requirements.

Your SMSF auditor requests an audit report

Some Self Managed Super Fund auditors may request to see audit reports concerning internal controls and investor statements for Professionally Managed Accounts (PMA).

As the PMA is a scheme, we do not produce a client-specific audit report. However, we do have audit reports in the Professionally Managed Accounts Annual Report.

These can be accessed through our website here in the bottom section.

The PMA Annual Report has audit letters from our auditor BDO in that document. This satisfies the majority of an auditor's needs.

I need a statement verifying my the legal ownership of my holdings

We can definitely help with this. Firstly, we can provide you with a sponsored holdings statement from direct from the broker. This will show all holdings of yours which are CHESS sponsored. For auditors of SMSFs etc. we find a sponsored holdings statement will satisfy their requirements.

Secondly, we are able to provide you with the HIN and postcode for you to access the share registries of the ETFs. If accessing these we ask you use the view single holding lookup and not alter any of the settings e.g. bank account, DRP etc. as these are set up to flow into our automated systems.

In either case, please email invest@rask.com.au or use the chat function and ask to speak to a person.

Why does my cash balance and cash as an asset class not match up?

In your Rask PMA there are two types of cash, a physical cash balance and cash held inside a cash ETF. Both will combine to make up your overall cash exposure.

The physical cash is a small amount - typically 1% or less - and this is where your fees will be deducted from. This saves any transactions taking place to sell down holdings to free up cash.

Additionally, the physical cash amount will include any distributions/dividends paid by your holdings. The balance will also include distributions/dividends declared but not yet paid. These are dividends/distributions you will receive but they have not been paid out by the holding.

The physical cash does not earn interest and this is why we only hold a small amount in this form. The remaining cash exposure is held via ETFs that invest in term deposits and other cash equivalents.
