STANCE: OPPOSE

AUTHOR(S)/SPONSOR(S): Assembly Member Cecilia Aguiar-Curry (D-4)

SUMMARY: States that it is the public policy of California that students are "recommended" to be vaccinated against human papillomavirus (HPV) before enrolling in 8th grade or California State Universities, California Community Colleges, and University of California schools. The HPV vaccine will not be required at any grade level, students and parents will only be advised to receive the vaccine.

STATUS: PASSED in Senate and Assembly. Signed by the Governor.
