Cut

Need to cut a section of your clip out of your video? We have you covered right here.

Updated over a week ago

The "Cut" feature βœ‚οΈ allows you to take one clip and divide it into either two or three new individual clips. There are a couple of different reasons you may need to cut your clips.

*Please note: If you are wanting to take one clip and divide it into two, you will need to remove the middle of the clip, leaving the front and back as your two new clips.

Storytime πŸ“–

  • Imagine you walk into an apartment, start recording the living room, move into a closet, and then you pause, OH SNAP, it hits you. You were supposed to record in multiple different clips, oops. Don't worry, we've got you! You can divide these into three unique clips using cut!

  • You have a video taken outside of Realync in which you record one continuous video. You can use the cut feature to remove the parts with you walking from spot to spot so it looks like a video seamlessly created in Realync using multiple different clips.

*Please note that editing is only available on our app at this time.

1) Open your video up for editing by pressing the three little dots and selecting "Edit Video". Then click on the three dots of your desired clip and select "Edit Clip".

2) Tap "Cut" at the bottom of our screen. βœ‚οΈ Here you can drag the cut from the bottom left or right sides to cut down the video into the section in which you wish to remove or remove and save for a later clip.

3) When you have the video "Cut" to the correct section, click "Confirm Cut". This will give you a question prompt.Β

4) Would you like to keep the cut portion as a separate clip? "Yes, keep" - this allows you to keep the cut portion and will add it as an individual clip in this video. "No, delete" - it will delete the section forever.Β

5) When finished cutting, be sure you are completely satisfied before saving as cut sections will not be saved unless you choose "yes".

Pro Tip: Prior to cutting your video clips, you can save a copy of the clip to your saved clips folder. That way if you make a mistake, you always have the full version in your back pocket. Need a refresher on saving a copy of a clip? Here you go.
