Video Quality Score

Video Quality Score is Realync’s new AI-based feature for Core properties to help determine the technical quality of 2d videos.

Updated over a week ago

Curious about how Video Quality Scoring works for your Realync videos? Lets walk through how scores are generated and what quality threshold you should choose for your property.

Once a video has been published, the quality scoring process will begin automatically. The scoring will take a short amount of time and will display on the video card once it has finished publishing. The video will have a green star, yellow star, or red star depicting the overall quality score. The star assigned is a result of a mathematical formula weighing the technical quality of the video.

Components evaluated include:

  • brightness/contrast

  • shakiness

  • blur "among other technical components"

Generating Video Quality Score for a Published Video:

New videos automatically will go through the VQS process, but you can manually generate scores for any video that is in your media library.

  1. To begin you will first navigate to the Videos Tab and select the video you would like to generate a Video Quality Score for.

    1. For Card View: Select the three dots in the right hand corner of the video card and click "Generate Video Quality Score"

    2. For List View: Select the video and the menu card will appear, click more , then tap ""Generate Video Quality Score"

Video Quality Scoring and Threshold:

Video Thresholds:

  • Good Score Threshold: The most lenient score threshold. This is for clients who want to prioritize getting good videos out over “minor” technical details.

  • Better Score Threshold: The “middle-of-the-road” score threshold where more weight is given to technical details but not so much that it will hinder getting out quality videos.

  • Best Score Threshold: The strictest score thresholds possible. Only videos with the highest technical scores will be marked as Green. Default setting will be Best, but can be changed at any time.

*Thresholds can be adjusted by reaching out to support@realync.com.The re-scoring process will begin immediately once a threshold is changed, but may take a few minutes to fully update.*

Video Quality Scoring

You can see the summary of a Video Quality Score by hovering over the star icon on both "Card View & List View"

  • Green:Green stars mean that the video met or exceeded all of our AI scoring standards. This video is ready to share!

  • Yellow: Yellow stars mean that the video did not meet all of our AI scoring standards. This video needs a look before sharing.

  • Red: Red stars mean that the video did not meet any or enough of our AI scoring standards. This video or parts of this video may need to be re-shot.
