To send payments to an EMV Credit Card device, enter the device’s nickname in the field that appears after selecting Credit Card as the payment method. For example, in the screenshot below, the nickname is displayed as ReClique Test Device. The screen also provides the option to toggle to manual collection (keying in the card number).
Sending a transaction to the device will block out the Core screen for staff and display a prompt on the device to present a payment card. Once the card has been presented and successfully read, the Core staff screen will update with the result of the payment attempt.
CAUTION! Once a payment request is sent to the device, the payment collection process takes place between the device and the payment gateway and is not mediated by Core. Inserting and removing a card multiple times can result in multiple charges against the card with only a single charge being reflected in Core. Network connectivity issues/timeouts during the collection process can result in a charge against the card with no charge being reflected in Core.
