Please note that splits can only be managed by the release owner (i.e. the account that uploaded the release). If you are a royalty split receiver looking to make changes, please contact the person who uploaded the release.

Adding

You can set up royalty splits in two ways, either during the uploading process of a release, or after the release has been uploaded. Just go to the "Royalties" menu and click on the "Royalty Splits" tab.

*The release doesn't need to be live in stores in order to set up royalty splits.

There are no limits on how many splits/receivers you can set up for a track. The important thing is that everybody's share adds up to 100%.

Changing

Once you've set up a royalty split, you can change the split share as well as the recipients whenever you want to. Just go to the "Royalties" menu, click on the "Royalty Splits" tab, go to the track you want to make updates to and don't forget to save the changes you've made.

There's no limit to how many times you can change the split, but do keep in mind that the valid split share is the one that's in the system the day we report royalties. For example, if you change splits on May 5th, 13th and 25th, the valid one will be the split added on May 25th as we report royalties at the end of each month.

Removing

If you no longer want to have splits on a certain track, no problem, it's an easy fix. Simply go to the "Royalties" menu, click on the "Royalty Splits" tab, go to the track you want to update, and remove the split receivers by clicking on 'x'. Don't forget to save the changes you've made.

Please keep in mind that the active split receivers will be notified that their share has been updated.
