Record Union accepts any Mastercard, Visa and American Express debit and credit cards for paying your subscriptions. One subscription is required per release and every subscription automatically renews each year so it's important to know how subscription renewals work.

What do I need to do to renew my subscriptions?

Since your subscriptions renew automatically each year, the only thing you need is to make sure your payment method is still open, active and has enough funds for your subscription amount and you're good to go!

How will I know when my subscription is about to renew? Will I get notified?

Record Union will send you an email reminder two weeks before your subscription is due to renew.

Will I get a receipt for the payment for my subscriptions?

All receipts and invoices will be sent to the email associated with your account.

I did not have enough funds in my payment method when they automatic renewal was made. How do I manually renew my subscription?

  • Sign in to your Record Union account.

  • Click on the 'Menu' (≡) in the top right corner, go to 'Account', and then select 'Subscription Page'.

  • Locate the release you want to renew and click on "Renew".

How can I change the card that is currently paying for my subscription?

You can go to the "Accounts" menu and scroll down to the very bottom of the page. There, you have the option to change your card anytime. Please know that doing this means this new card will be linked to all your releases. There currently isn't an option to use different cards for different releases.

If you have an older release that's uploaded using PayPal, the payment method for that release will remain with PayPal.

Can I change the PayPal that is currently paying for my subscription?

If you want to change the PayPal account that is paying for your subscription/s:

  1. Log in to the PayPal account that is currently paying for the subscription/s —> find the recurring payment(s) to "DFP Group AB" —> and cancel it (for any active release subscriptions). Your subscription(s) on Record Union will keep running until the expiration date.

  2. When it's time to renew, you need to do it manually on the renewal date. Just log into your account, go to the subscriptions page to locate the release you'd like to renew and click "Renew".

My release's subscription is linked to my PayPal account, can I link it to my card instead?

Since PayPal requires a debit or credit card to be attached to your account in order to set up a subscription to our services, we're no longer offering it as a payment option for new uploads. You will need to use a debit or credit card instead.

For existing releases, there currently isn't an option to change your payment method from PayPal to card and vice versa.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

If the subscription fails to renew, or if you suspend it, the release will stay online. However, your royalty rate will drop to 0% at the end of that month and your release will no longer be eligible to receive royalties according to our Terms and Conditions. Record Union may also decide to remove the release from applicable services.

Renewing the subscription later will restore your royalties from the start of the following month.

It’s important to keep track of your subscription status and renew the same month it ends or expires to ensure you don't miss any royalties. Record Union makes it easy to manage subscriptions directly from your account, keeping your music distribution smooth and efficient.

Please note that It isn't possible to claim royalties for periods where you weren't paying your subscriptions.
