Give a subcontractor or partner company access to one of your projects. Guests can add photos and updates, and they only see the project you pick. You invite them with a code that you send however you like.
Good to know: Guests don't count toward your user limit, and a guest only sees the one project you assign to their code.
Invite a guest on mobile
1. Choose the Guest account type
In the RelayCam app, tap Team, then tap Invite Team.
Tap Account Type, choose Guest, and tap Confirm.
2. Pick the project
A Project field appears. Tap it, pick the project (you can search by name), and tap Assign Project.
3. Get the code and send it
Tap Get Invite Code.
Tap Share Code to send it by text, email, or any app on your phone. Or tap Copy Code and paste it wherever you like.
Codes last 14 days. The expiry date is shown under the code, and anyone with the code can join until then. One code works for everyone you share it with. Tap New Code any time to get another one. A new code doesn't cancel older ones, so they keep working until they expire.
Invite a guest on the web
In the left sidebar, click Team, then click Invite. You can also open a project, view its people, and click +Invite.
In the Invite User window, choose Guest.
Under Project Name, select the project the guest should see. The code is created once you pick a project.
Click Copy Code to copy just the code, or click Share Invite to copy a ready-to-send message with the invite link. Paste it into a text or email.
What your guest does
On mobile
Sign in to RelayCam. Guests need a RelayCam Business account (free or paid). If they don't have one yet, they can create one after you invite them.
Tap Projects, then the Guest Project tab.
Type or paste the code into the Guest code box and tap Join.
The project then appears under Guest Project.
On the web
Sign in to RelayCam on the web with a Business account (free or paid).
Click Projects, then the Guest Projects tab.
Type or paste the code into the Invite Code box and click Join.
The guest can also open the invite link you sent. It opens a page that shows the project access code with a Copy button.
Troubleshooting
What your guest sees | What it means and what to do |
"That code is invalid or has expired." (mobile) or "Please enter valid Invite code!" (web) | Check the code, or ask the sender for a new one. Codes last 14 days. |
"That's a team invite code, not a guest code." | The code was created for a team member. Get a new code with Guest selected as the account type. |
"This project belongs to your own team, so you can't join it as a guest." | Guest codes are for people outside the company that owns the project. |
"You're already a member of this project." | No action needed. Open the project from your project list. |
"Too many attempts." | Wait a little while and try again. |
